The Sportsman is a vibrant local pub in the heart of the South Downs, with an unrivalled view over the Amberley Wildbrooks. Perfect for nature lovers, birdwatchers, walkers and cyclists. We have five en-suite B&B rooms with views over the Wildbrooks or the South Downs

. We serve a variety of locally produced real ales and pride ourselves on the quality of how we store and serve them. Food available Mon-Sat 12-2.30pm and 6-8pm and Sunday 12-3pm. Today has been an exciting one here!

A little behind the scenes of the BBC Sussex and ITV Meridian News segments recorded here at the Sportsman both this morning and this afternoon. Some fabulous locals interviewed and Committee Chair Roger ready for his starring role up at the bar!

BBC Radio Sussex segment will broadcast tomorrow morning around 7:25am.

Meridian News feature will be shown tomorrow or Wednesday. Tonight’s showing was delayed due additional events being reported on. We will keep you posted!

Thank you to all who joined us to either be interviewed or just be wonderful locals showing what a great atmosphere and community we have here at The Sportsman!

We’ve got both BBC Radio Sussex and ITV Meridian coming along, and we’d absolutely LOVE your support! ❤️

🎙️ BBC Sussex – from 11:00am
They’ll be at the pub for an interview, and if you’d like to come along and be part of it, we’d love to see you!

📺 ITV Meridian – from 4:00pm
They’ll be joining us for a LIVE TV broadcast, which is expected to take place sometime between 5:30pm and 6:30pm, depending on the other news of the day.

👉 So please come along and help us fill the pub with our amazing, supportive locals!

The more of you we have there, the better — let’s show them just how much our local community means to us! ❤️
