🎅🎄 CAN ANYONE HELP US MAKE CHRISTMAS MAGICAL? 🎄🎅

🚜 BEATING TRAILER WANTED – SATURDAY 5TH DECEMBER 🚜

We are looking to borrow or hire a beating trailer for the day on Saturday 5th December.

We have something very special planned for the children, and we’d love to take them on a magical little journey to visit Santa! 🎅✨🎁

We are more than happy to collect, return and pay for the use of the trailer.

We just want to make this a truly magical experience for the little ones and create some wonderful Christmas memories! ❤️

It’s official. The clocks have gone back and that time every horse owner dreads is here… winter…

So to help get you through the dark, the mud and the rain, one of our lovely suppliers, Mollichaff, has put together a goody bag for one lucky winner. There is a catch (of course). To win it, we want your top tip for getting through winter. W**e, chocolate, cake and cheese don’t count, they’re a given.

Inside the pack:
• A bag of Mollichaff Applechaff
• Two sample bags
• A Mollichaff bucket and stirrer
• A Mollichaff cap

🦖🦖 MEET OUR TWO RESIDENT DINOSAURS – BERT & ERNIE! 🦖🦖

We get asked so many times a day about the two rather unusual characters roaming around our garden, so our granddaughter Millie thought it would be a great idea to introduce them properly and answer some of your most frequently asked questions! ❤️

🦖 1. What actually are they?

They’re EMUS! Not dinosaurs, although they certainly look like them! 😂

🎂 2. How old are they?

They’re just 7 months old!

💕 3. Do they have names?

Meet Bert & Ernie… although there’s a slight possibility they could actually be Bea & Eve! 🤣 We’re not quite sure yet!

🥰 4. Are they friendly?

Absolutely! So far, so good! We’ve handled them since they were tiny babies and continue to do so every day. They absolutely LOVE people and are very inquisitive!

🐣 5. How long have you had them?

I’ve had them since they were just a few days old, so I’ve watched them grow from tiny fluffy chicks into the two rather large characters you see today!

🌿 6. Are they easy to keep?

Surprisingly, yes! They’re relatively straightforward. Their main diet is specialist ratite feed, although they do love helping themselves to the chickens’ food!

Breakfast is quite the occasion in our garden – lettuce, spinach and kale are all on the menu! 🥬

They’re also rather partial to a biscuit, but their absolute FAVOURITE treat is STRAWBERRIES! 🍓🍓

🐓 7. Do they get on with the other animals?

Yes, they certainly do! In fact, they’ve taken it upon themselves to become the unofficial security guards of the flock! 😂 They love keeping an eye on everyone and take their duties very seriously, chasing off any pigeons, crows or jackdaws that dare to visit! 🐦‍⬛

⚽ 8. Are they football crazy?

ABSOLUTELY! ⚽🤣 Give them a football and they’re in their element! They love chasing it around the garden, and when the excitement gets too much, out comes their hilarious crazy dance! They spend a good part of their day bouncing, spinning and dancing around like they’ve completely lost the plot! It’s impossible not to laugh watching them! 😂🦖

💭 9. Why did I get emus?

I love different! I’ve wanted a couple for a very long time. They’re not much different from chickens really, just a lot bigger! They’re such an awesome pair and they always make me smile! 🥰 (plus I just love animals ❤️)

So there you have it! Our two resident dinosaurs officially introduced, thanks to Millie! ❤️

Next time you’re visiting Fawley Farm Feeds or The Old Dairy Tearoom, keep an eye out for Bert & Ernie and all the other residents wandering around the garden. They’re always up to something and certainly keep us entertained!

Our first-ever Christmas Market in the barn is Saturday 5th December, 10am-4pm, and pitches are filling up quickly. If you're a local maker, artist or artisan food producer, book yours now before they're gone! 🙌

😈 👻 Hallooooweeeennnnn is coming..... by now you realise that its physically impossible for a holiday to go past without us celebrating it over here (just wait till Christmas!). I mean, just look at Matt and Harry....
