The Prestoungrange Gothenburg was built in 1908 as a public house. The New Prestoungrange Gothenburg re-opens on 4th February 2023 under the management of husband and wife team, Pat & Jackie Cairney. Pat is a butcher by trade, and over the last 7 years has had the award winning Linton Hotel & Steakhouse in East Linton, which in 2021 won Hotel Restaurant of the Year for South East Scotland, and als

o overall Hotel Restaurant of the year for the whole of Scotland at the Food Awards Scotland. It is hoped to re-create the restaurant that we have in East Linton into the New Gothenburg. Our award winning chef, Joe, along with his fantastic team, will be transferring their skills and menus from the Linton into the New Gothenburg for all to enjoy. There will also be live acts on in the bar, which will be advertised on our page, and also a jukebox and coverage of live sporting events. Our bar is strictly for over 18s only, no children will be permitted in the bar area, and our main door at the front is only for access to the bar. Access for meals will be via our side door which takes you to our restaurant. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the New Goth on 4th February after we have carried out some maintenance work, and thank everyone for your patience and support whilst we are doing this.

Our Story

The Prestoungrange Gothenburg was built in 1908 as a public house. Today, it still operates as a bar but is now also renowned for its excellent pub grub and live entertainment. It also has its own microbrewery creating real ales for both The Goth and elsewhere. It is also an events venue with large function halls holding regular weddings, private dinners, live music events etc. The Goth is a Dowie Ales establishment.
