Broughton Club update
The Government's roadmap has given us the means to plan our way out of the current lockdown. I have taken the opportunity to outline a possible way forward, in conjunction with our Stewards in particular, in order to give you some idea of the use you will be able to make of the club in forthcoming months.
29th March
We know with some certainty that the use of our outdoor facilities can resume from this date and it will be great to see members back playing Tennis, Bowls and Petanque again.
12th April
Hospitality venues can reopen outdoors from this date. We would hope to provide a 'table service' bar facility by making use of the marquee/lawn area. The protocols we followed last year will still be applied as social distancing rules continue to be in place.
17th May
Hospitality venues can resume indoors and indoor sports and exercise classes can also take place. At this stage we would be looking to open the clubhouse and provide a 'table service' bar facility here. Again protocols will be in place to meet social distancing rules.
Badminton will be able to resume, following the rule of 6, and we would hope to see some of our regular hall hirers return.
Snooker should also be able to be played again within the protocols that will be in place.
21st June
It is planned that all limits on social contact will be removed from this date. That being the case we could see the return of our Bridge members should they wish to at this time.
As I am sure you are all aware, the above dates are subject to change and are very much dependent on the continued successful progress against the coronavirus. In due course I will firm up on club plans as we progress through the coming weeks and months.
Bridge Section
Many of you will not be aware that bridge members have been playing bridge online. They are able to simulate what would typically take place in the clubhouse on Monday and Thursday evenings and Tuesday and Friday mornings. Monday nights draw in
