UPDATE: fortunately the gentleman had a dashcam running, so hopefully that will provide clearer footage of what happened!

Sadly one of our customers has had his car significantly scratched while they were having their carvery today. They were parked in the middle row of the car park, second car over from the road. I am hoping whoever is responsible just didn't realise they had done it. I will go through our CCTV footage to get a number plate, and will pass it on to the customer and police if required. But if you think it may have been you, do please get in touch.

Please note that we will be closed this Friday lunchtime (1st May) to attend the funeral of this particularly special gentleman. We will be eternally grateful to him for entrusting us with the ownership of The Fforest Inn... and his ongoing support since. A truly unique character who will be forever missed, but always etched into the history of this very special place. He is photographed here in the pub on its first day of opening after he purchased it. I have been kindly gifted a copy of the article in the paper he is holding announcing its reopening, which I will post soon. But for now.... thank you Ken, you changed our lives forever!

Passed away on 12th March 2026, Aged 86 years.

Devoted Husband of the late Norah, Loving Dad to Will & Dawn and a much loved Grandad.
He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

Funeral Service will take place at New Radnor Church on Friday 1st May 2026 at 2pm.

We’re thrilled to be involved in this year’s Bike & Brew Charity Passport event! ☕🏍️

For anyone who hasn’t come across it yet (and after huge success last year), this year’s event looks set to be even bigger.

For just £10, bikers can buy a passport packed with almost 300 biker-friendly cafés and restaurants across Wales and England. Visit a venue, grab a brew, get your passport stamped. Simple.

For every 10 stamps collected, riders earn a raffle ticket at the end of the season. There are some fantastic prizes up for grabs… including some very impressive bikes (we’ll admit, we don’t know much about the bikes, but we know they’re special!).

Even better, every penny from passport sales goes straight back into community projects chosen by the riders themselves. A brilliant initiative run by MARK, a community committed to kindness and making a real difference.

We met a few participants last year and they were genuinely lovely. Very proud of their passports. Using them as the perfect excuse to discover new places along the way.

We are now almost booked up for our Mother's Day Carvery next weekend. There are a couple of smaller tables available for our second sitting at 2.30 only. We have therefore decided to do a third sitting late afternoon - from 5.00.

If you want to show your mum how special she is to you, you better be quick! ;)
