We’re so excited to see Next Gen Movement featured in the Portsmouth News! 🖤

From an empty space at The Harbour School to a dedicated space where young people can move, connect, talk and grow, it’s been amazing to see the journey come to life.

The space brings together physical activity, mentoring & wellbeing, all creating an environment where young people can build confidence, release energy and have those natural conversations with trusted role models.

A huge thank you to the Portsmouth News for coming down and capturing what we’re building and speaking to everyone who has played a part in making the space happen.

Always grateful for the time we get to catch up as Directors 🤝

Between Keshia, Leah and Simon, there’s always something going on, so it’s nice to take a moment to sit down, catch up and hear about all the amazing things happening both inside and outside the powerhouse that is Politely Rebellious Next Gen CIC!

From new projects and opportunities to the people, partnerships and ideas that keep everything moving forward, there’s never a quiet moment. We’re incredibly lucky to have a team that brings different experiences, perspectives and strengths to the table, all with the same goal of creating more opportunities for the next generation.

Great to see our incredible Role Model Linvoy Primus MBE at his first session with some of the young people at The Harbour School as part of Next Gen Movement⚽️

Linvoy met the young people at King George Playing Field for a session combining football skills, physical activity and mentoring.

It was a great opportunity for the young people to spend time with Linvoy, learn from his experiences and build positive relationships in a relaxed environment, while doing something they enjoy.

This is exactly what Next Gen Movement is all about. Creating positive spaces where young people can be active, build confidence, learn new skills and have natural conversations with trusted role models.

A huge thank you to Linvoy for giving his time and sharing his experience with the next generation🖤

From an empty space to somewhere young people can move, connect, talk and grow👟

We wanted to share a little more of the journey behind our first Next Gen Movement space at The Harbour School, and what better way to do that than through some photos from our unveiling and of the finished space!

What started as an idea to create somewhere positive for young people has now become a real space where physical activity, mentoring, mental health and wellbeing can come together.

From boxing and fitness to mindfulness, education and those natural conversations that can sometimes make the biggest difference, the aim is simple: create somewhere young people feel safe, supported and able to be themselves 🥊

A huge thank you again to the incredible team at The Harbour School, our Director Simon and his superstar team at Mountjoy, and the Hampshire Flag Company for the time, effort and creativity that went into transforming the space and bringing our vision to life.

And of course, a massive thank you to our amazing role models Lucas Ballingall, Linvoy Primus MBE and Joe Stewart, who will be holding regular sessions in the space, alongside Mikey McKinson and Joel Kirby. Every person involved has brought something different to this project, and that’s what makes it so special.

We’re incredibly proud to see the space come to life, but the real journey starts now!

We can’t wait to see the conversations and confidence that grows from this, and most importantly, the impact it has on the young people who use it🖤

What better way to bring mentoring scenarios to life than with one of our mentors and one of our young people! 🤝

As part of Jade’s Mentoring Through Change project, we’re creating real-life scenarios to help our mentors understand what mentoring can look like when a young person is experiencing significant life changes.

Mentoring Through Change is a one-to-one mentoring programme designed to provide young people with a safe and supportive space where they can explore their emotions, feel heard and develop healthy coping strategies.

Supporting young people through life’s toughest moments & helping them move forward with guidance, connection and growth🤍

Next Gen Live being built by the next generation🪩

We’re incredibly proud of our youth led events team, who are already putting so much time, energy and creativity into preparing for Next Gen Live in January 2027.

Next Gen Live will bring together 350 secondary school students from across Portsmouth and the surrounding areas for a day filled with inspirational speakers, role models, activities, conversations and opportunities to get involved 🎤

What makes this event even more special is that our young people aren’t just attending it… they’re helping make it happen.

From planning and ideas to content, speakers, activities and the overall experience, our youth led team are taking an active role in shaping a day designed for their peers. We’re watching them build confidence, develop new skills and take on real responsibility along the way.

This is what Next Gen is all about. Giving young people a voice, backing their ideas and creating opportunities for them to lead.
