This is Jammy. He’s General Dogsbody 🫡

Hailing from Helston, Jammy has a real passion for championing Cornish produce and brings that into everything he does here.

You’ll find him in the kitchen backing up Ben, behind the bar backing me up, and generally keeping the place ticking over.

A proper jack of all trades, and an important part of the team, neither Ben nor I would manage half as well without him.

Calm under pressure, always up for helping out, and usually the one picking up whatever needs doing before anyone asks.

His drink of choice is a double vodka and Vimto (yeah, we know…) so buy him one when you see him at the bar 🍇🥃

CURRENT OPEN HOURS

We've had a mammoth 3 weeks open so far! We appreciate all the love and support we've received and nothing makes us happier than to see all of the 5 star reviews flying in.

However Ben, Jammy, and I haven't had a day off since before we opened... We are tired and have LOADS of admin to catch up on. So we're gonna be closing Mondays and Tuesdays just until we have adequate staffing to be able to open 7 days again.

Hope you all understand.

PART OF THE CREW, PART OF THE SHIP 🚢 🐙

This is Ben. He's responsible for all of the delicious food you've been eating over the past couple of weeks.

Truro born and bred, Ben has been cooking professionally for 11 years, starting as an apprentice at The Punchbowl and Ladle. He's worked in numerous kitchens around Cornwall, most recently as the Head Chef at The Wig & Pen in Truro.

Ben brings with him over a decade of experience in kitchens which is reflected in his cooking. But an amazing palate is not the only thing that makes him a brilliant head chef, he is also relaxed under pressure and a brilliant mentor for the chefs he trains.

His favourite pint on the bar is Lightbulb (so buy him one when you see him) 💡
