Yes, it’s hard to believe that the jazz club nights at The Brit stopped over a year ago, but since then I’ve been running a similar night elsewhere - initially at The Hybrid Arts Cafe in Neath, and now we’ve moved to The Welsh House Neath - our first jazz night there is on Fri 28 June at 8pm. If you enjoyed the jazz at The Brit then you’ll certainly enjoy what we’re putting on at The Welsh House - it’s an all-ticketed event as it’s held in a separate room at the venue, and it’s the ticket sales that pay for the jazz nights to happen, so it would be great to see you there!

You may know already, but unfortunately the Wednesday Jazz Club nights at The Brit Pub Cwmafan have now finished - including today, 15 March. Thanks to all who came along and played for us from many a mile away, and those more local, and a big thank you to all of you who came along to listen each week - it was a lot of fun.

It's Jazz Club again at The Brit Pub Cwmavon this week on Weds 8 Feb. This week it's a celebration of jazz piano trios, with me on piano, Nick Kacal (bass), and Graham New (drums), and sitters-in are very welcome in the 2nd half. Usual 8pm start. Here's what else is happening at the club in Feb and March - it's a very varied programme of different line-ups and styles which we hope you'll enjoy...

15 Feb: The Welsh Guitar Duo.
22 Feb: Tommy Harris and Dick Hamer (both sax) with the house trio featuring Ashley John Long (bass).
1 March: St. David's Day Special, with singer Julie Matthews, Ceri Matthews (flute and Welsh pipes), and me joining them for a few tunes on piano.
8 Mar: Elaina Hoss (vocals), Dominic Norcross (sax), John-Paul Gard (organ), and Graham New (drums).
15 Mar: Andy Hague (trumpet and flugelhorn), Ryan Thrupp (drums), Ashley John Long (bass), and me on piano.
22 Mar: Dan Newberry (sax) with the house trio featuring Ashley John Long (bass), me on piano, and Graham New (drums).
