Why Supporting Local Really Matters 🤍
We hear the words “support local” all the time, but have you ever really stopped to think about what that means?
When you buy from a small local business, you’re not helping a huge corporation hit another sales target. You’re supporting a real person, a family, a dream and quite often years of hard work, determination and a few sleepless nights!
That coffee from your independent café, the gift from a local shop, dinner at the family run restaurant, using a local tradesperson or choosing an independent professional rather than a national company might feel like a small decision to you, but to that business it genuinely matters.
And the wonderful thing is that local businesses support local too. They employ local people, recommend other independents, sponsor local events, support schools and charities and help create the communities we all love living in.
I know first hand just how much heart goes into running a small business. Behind the polished social media posts and shop fronts are people working incredibly hard to make something successful, provide for their families and hopefully make a difference along the way.
That is exactly why we created WeLoveLocalBH. We want to give our amazing local businesses a voice, introduce you to the people behind them and encourage all of us to think local whenever we can.
Because if we want thriving high streets, brilliant independent businesses and a strong community, we all have a part to play.
