HORSES WERE SIGNALED BY A BELL TO PULL GOODS TO THE TOP OF SOW HILL (FROM THE TOWN) IT THUS RECEIVED THE NAME 'ONE BELL'. AT THE TURN OF THE CENTURY IT WAS USED AS A INN FOR PASSING COACHES AND TRAVELLERS AND BECAME KNOWN AS 'THE BELL INN' AS IT IS TODAY. (Cheaper than Whetherspoons) believe it. Licenced till 2am. WED:

Sorry we will not be opening at present. We only have a small outside area.

We would like to thank all the Doctors, Nurses and every Key Worker for going the extra mile this year. We would like to wish everyone a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year and we hope that 2021 is a better year for us all.
