Well done boys ⚽️
⚽️⚫️🟢MATCH REPORT – MAD OX RESERVES 🟢⚫️⚽️
🏆 Mad Ox Reserves 12–1 Knottingley Albion
WHAT A PERFORMANCE FROM THE OX! 🔥🐂
First and foremost, I want to say a massive well done and thank you to Knottingley Albion. With their squad down to the bare bones, they still turned up, gave it their all and played the game. Massive respect to the lads for that! 👏
Now then… WOW! Where do we even start with this one?! 🤯
After winning the toss, the boys got us underway and immediately went on the front foot, creating chances and putting Knottingley under pressure.
It wasn’t long before we saw a little bit of magic! ✨ Robert, making his first start for Mad Ox Reserves, danced his way into the box, leaving defenders behind before calmly opening the scoring! What a way to announce yourself! ⚽️
But then came a moment of madness! 😂 A little mix-up involving Kiea, who clearly hasn’t fully got to grips with the offside rule yet, allowed Knottingley back into the game at 1–1! Don’t worry, Kiea, we’ll get the rulebook out at training! 📖🤣
From that moment on, though, it was TOTAL CONTROL FROM THE OX!
⚽️ 2–1 – Braden Altinbas: A lovely ball into Braden, who made no mistake and slotted home to put us back in front.
⚽️ 3–1 – Callum Lacy: The captain getting himself on the scoresheet after a brilliant ball through from Braden. A composed finish from our skipper!
⚽️ 4–1 – Robert: Those dancing feet were at it again! Knottingley simply couldn’t get near him as he worked his magic and grabbed his second of the morning. What a first start!
⚽️ 5–1 – Luke: Just before half-time, the Ox won a free kick on the edge of the box. Up stepped big Luke, who absolutely HAMMERED one home! No keeper was stopping that! 🚀
HALF-TIME: MAD OX RESERVES 5–1 KNOTTINGLEY ALBION
The second half saw a few changes, but the message remained the same: keep playing football, keep working hard and don’t let the standards drop!
And it didn’t take long for the changes to make an impact!
⚽️ 6–1 – Harrison: For the second week running, Harrison came on and made an immediate impact! Twisting and turning his way into the box before finding the net. The lad is becoming a nightmare for defenders! 🔥
⚽️ 7–1 – Ben P: After seeing a few chances go begging and getting increasingly frustrated, Ben finally got the goal he deserved! You could see the relief on his face! 😂
⚽️ 8–1 – Brad Lacy: THE BIGGEST CHEER OF THE DAY! 😂 The lesser-experienced Lacy stepped up and showed his brother that he’s not the only goalscorer in the family! Brad knocking home number eight and giving Callum something to think about at the next family dinner! 👏⚽️
⚽️ 9–1 – Ben P: Ben was at it again, grabbing his second of the game with another lovely finish. Once he got one, there was no stopping him!
⚽️ 10–1 – Callum Lacy: The captain wasn’t letting his brother have all the attention! After the ball came back off the post, Callum was there to finish and grab his second of the game!
⚽️ 11–1 – Luke: The big centre-back getting himself another goal! Not often you see a defender bagging two in a game, but Luke clearly fancied himself as a striker today! 😂
⚽️ 12–1 – Dom: And to round things off, what a moment for Dom! Picking up the ball and driving forward, the Knottingley defence seemed to open up in front of him, and he made no mistake with a lovely strike to grab his FIRST GOAL FOR THE CLUB! 👏🔥
FULL-TIME: MAD OX RESERVES 12–1 KNOTTINGLEY ALBION
🐂 FINAL THOUGHTS
Overall, a fantastic morning of football from the lads. Some brilliant goals, great attacking play and plenty of positives to take away.
It’s always nice to score goals, but what pleased me most was the attitude of the boys. We kept going, kept creating chances and showed the quality we’ve got throughout this squad.
A special mention to Robert on his first start, grabbing two goals and putting in a brilliant performance! 👏
🏆 Manager’s MOTM – Brad
⭐ Referee’s MOTM – Robert
And finally, a MASSIVE thank you to our very own goalkeeper Chris, who stepped in to referee today’s game! Not only did he help us out, but I must say he did a cracking job as well! 👏
Chris, if this goalkeeping business doesn’t work out, I reckon you’ve got a future with the whistle! 😂🟨
Once again, respect to Knottingley for turning up and giving it everything despite being short on numbers.
12 GOALS. 3 POINTS. ANOTHER BIG PERFORMANCE.
We keep working, we keep improving, and we keep pushing forward!
UP THE OX! 🐂⚫️🟢
