Please join us FROM 3pm on SUNDAY 7th JUNE for drinks to celebrate Bungees 16 years at the Blue and in raising a glass to a true Blue Peter legend, our pub dad, agony uncle, referee, counsellor, resident musician … comedian and not forgetting the one and only ELBOW GREASE MAN!!!!

Well… after 16 years of pulling pints, keeping everyone in check, solving the world’s problems and somehow always being able to be there for us all.. It’s time for Bungee to retire from The Blue Peter!

To say he’s been our Bar Manager doesn’t really do him justice. For many of us, he’s been like a dad – always there with advice or a shoulder to lean on and the occasional eye roll when we were being idiots haha

Over the last 16 years, Bungee has seen staff come and go, watched staff grow up & move onto pastures new.. celebrated countless birthdays, listened to endless stories, and probably heard “just one more pint” more times than any human should have to.

Whether you needed a laugh, a moan, or someone to settle a debate after a few drinks, Bungee is your man.

Bungees daily stories & witty tales have kept us all going and that truly lifted our spirits when we had to close the iconic door of the Blue💙 during Covid… making us cry with laughter every day, at what was then, a frightening time in our lives. They were so amazing they should have been published! He'd have been a millionaire from the sales!!

The Blue Peter won’t be the same without him & he’s going to be missed by all the staff and countless customers that look forward to returning to the blue each year to be served by Bunge!

In all seriousness, Bungee, thank you for 16 years of hard work, friendship, laughs, loyalty, and for helping make this pub the family it is today. You’ve left your mark on every single one of us, and while we’re gutted to see you go, we know you’ve earned the chance to put your feet up… at least for a day or two and spend lots of quality time with Emma.. eat lots of pies and enjoy some pints on the other side of the bar!l and maybe entertain us with your guitar!

Not so many doggies this week as it’s been sooo busy for us doggy photographers we haven’t had chance to snap away so if you’ve been in the pub and we haven’t asked for a pic of your doggy we are so sorry! ❤️

✅ DO:💧 Keep fresh water available at all times🌳 Walk dogs early morning or late evening🧊 Provide cool shady places to rest🐾 Check pavements before walks – if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for paws!

❌ DON’T:🚗 Never leave dogs in cars – even for a minute☀️ Avoid long walks in peak heat🥵 Don’t over-exercise dogs in warm weather
