Glasshouse Acoustic Sessions

Glasshouse Acoustic Sessions Glasshouse Acoustic Sessions were free monthly Sunday afternoon events in Peterborough's Key Theatre.

They were paused in 2021, and we're keeping this page open to promote other acoustic music events and artists. Held in the delightful Riverside Bar, on the first floor of Peterborough's Key Theatre overlooking the River Nene, Glasshouse Acoustic Sessions were a showcase for local and regional acoustic talent, both up-and-coming and established singers, players and writers, spanning a range of musi

cal genres, both covers and originals. Typically 3 or 4 bands or artists were invited to perform, between 2pm and 5.30pm on selected Sundays. It was free, family-friendly, with a licensed bar and a relaxed 'end-of-the-weekend' atmosphere. We're currently waiting for a new team to take up the reins and re-establish this event.

We're delighted to hear that the wonderful Key Theatre has been saved from closure. So it's probably timely to update you about the Glasshouse Sessions. Our last live Session was in February 2020, and then we had to switch to livestreaming for the rest of 2020 during the peaks and troughs of lockdowns. In March 2021, with no sign of reopening, Charlotte Purser and I decided to hand back the organisation of the Sessions to the Key management, in the hope that someone else would take it on. That hasn't been possible during the continuing uncertainty around covid and the Key but now, fingers crossed, the Sessions can be restarted in some shape or form. We've kept the FB Group, the FB Page, the GAS website, Twitter and Instagram accounts open, all ready to handover 🙂
As ever, a huge thank you to the hundreds (literally!) of artists who performed during our five years of tenure, plus thanks to the Key staff, the loyal audiences, David Bailey and Tony Nero for photography, Robert Male for video, the team at PCRFM for their support, and lots of other people who helped in numerous ways.
If (when!) the Sessions start again, please try and support them 🙂
