Our much-loved member Penny Rumbelow died in September and her wake was held at the Club on October 22.
Penny was a regular at our fortnightly bingo sessions and by coincidence her wake was followed by bingo night.
Lots of mourners stayed on to play in memory of Penny and we made the first house a special fund-raiser for the Sue Ryder hospice, which cared for her during the last part of her life. Prizes for line and house were drinks from the bar and we made £235.
Later in the night, one of the full house winners donated £50 of their prizemoney to Sue Ryder, so the evening brought in almost £300. Thanks everyone for your generosity.
We all miss Penny and our thoughts are with her family and partner, Gavin Heaton.
