If you were thinking of helping save this pub for the Community then do it now as time is fast running out!. The Community purchase guarantees the pub remains as it is, with community use and a manager at the helm with input from community members to organise functions and events. etc. Commercial options might ruin the interior or worse, close it by stealth. Don't leave to others especially if you use the pub, lets not lose this through the backdoor. Act now and help preserve not only Millfield's last pub but a British Heritage pubs, one of only 260 left standing in the country.

Still trying hard at Charters this afternoon, thank you to Charters for hosting us and to Warren Allett for his assistance. We got actual investment there and then from one fantastic customer and promise of more. However if you want to save the pub in its present state then we still need more, please ask for a prospectus on [email protected]. Time is against us so please help asap.

“The latest open meeting of The Hand & Heart Community Pub Society was a great success, the first official meeting with Members following their investments. Strategy and Marketing details were discussed and how to attract further investors.

Concern was expressed from members that rumours of a purchase of the Hand & Heart were circulating. We can categorically say that that is untrue as the Asset Of Community Value placed on the pub prevents any deals being done within the six months moratorium period other than with Community Set ups. We are, as far as we know, the ONLY Community offer and any Commercial bids will not be looked at until after October 11th. This is also backed up with subsequent conversations with the Estate Agent .So please do not believe any stories that are circulating saying different.

Please continue to support our bid which will guarantee the safeguarding of the pub as we know it. We urgently need more investment so please help us now. If you still have not had a prospectus then ask for one via our email [email protected]

We plan to have our information stand at the Charters 25th anniversary this weekend and some of the Committee members will there between 3-6 both Saturday & Sunday, so come and say hello.”

We have had a good opening response from investors after our prospectus issue and you can still get one by emailing [email protected]. But there is still a long way to go, please keep the cash coming in, we need to bid this month. There is a meeting to discuss our latest position and that will take place at the Burghley Club in the upstairs room, Thursday 15th September 8pm.

Latest update, all prospectuses have been sent by email and postal ones should be arriving shortly via mail or hand delivery. Sadly poor transposition of some emails has meant non delivery so if you were expecting a prospectus and nothing has arrived or you would like one anyway please contact our email address [email protected]. Please invest in saving the Hand and as the only Community Project bidding we do need the investment asap if we are to make a bid this month. Lets hope we can do it.

Great News!! After much delay we have finally got out bank account open today. Prospectuses are now being sent out via email, postal ones will follow to those without email addresses. If you want to join the project then please send for a prospectus by emailing us at [email protected].

Now is the time to turn your pledges into real cash to save the Hand.

Latest update, a wonderful response at the Peterborough Beer Festival, thank you to the organisers for letting us host our stand. Great shame our original stand went astray but our last minute substitute still attracted much interest. Many new pledges received and we are now standing at around £150,000 so please keep them coming as we press on towards our target. As far as we know we are the only Community Project set up , which allows us to bid within the six months guarded moratorium period granted under the Asset Of Community Value protection on the pub. The Prospectus should be out in the next few days.

Another update, after much delay we have finally got our company number through from the FCA,( Financial Conduct Authority), so next step bank account! Will keep you posted.

Great opening evening at the Peterborough Beer festival. Despite our original stand disappearing after the Great British Beer Festival we managed to knock a somewhat rustic effort together at the last minute but we are there. Come and see us and have a chat, next to the Membership stand.

Our stand at the Great British Beer Festival was a great success with many people offering pledges to us. We now need to emulate that at the Peterborough Beer festival next week. Our stand will be in the Membership area, come and talk to us and we can explain the current situation. We still need more pledges if we are to keep the Hand & Heart as a much loved Community Asset.
