Most people look across Loch Scridain and see peace.
But 400 years ago, this landscape was at the heart of one of Mull’s most turbulent chapters.
When the Macleans of Duart lost their lands to the Campbells of Argyll, not everyone accepted it quietly.
Families were ordered to leave.
Names were recorded.
Men were declared rebels.
And for seven years, resistance continued across these shores.
Today the loch looks unchanged. The water is calm. The views are breathtaking.
But every hill, shoreline and glen holds stories of the people who stood their ground and shaped the Mull we know today.
