The Soda Shop & Cocktail Emporium
This autumn Partick will be the home to a very special project based on the soda-serve concept patented by Joseph Priestley in 1772, which then began to appear in drug stores across the United Sates of America in the late 19th century. The Soda Shop & Cocktail Emporium opens its doors at the start of October this year and will be representing the quest for real s
odas in a pop-up format on Dumbarton Road. Customers will have just over 9 weeks to take advantage of the experience and will be able to try soda-pops (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic varieties) made on-site direct from the fountain at point of consumption – guaranteeing them a truly fresh experience. Not only will customers be treated to wonderful range of flavoured sodas, but they can also choose from an extensive cocktail selection made up of 3 menus – classics, sodas & hard shakes. The menu term ‘hard shakes’ refers to milkshakes made with liquor. These special drinks offer a completely new way to enjoy a drink that was a staple of many childhoods. To compliment the drinking experience there will be an impressive list of entertainment including live music drawing influence from jazz and blues on Friday nights, DJ's on Saturday nights continuing on the same theme as the live music as well as burlesque show specials planned in, with dates to be confirmed. During the week the Soda Shop will host an interactive media studio, which will be used for a number of drinks-trade projects including photography, and video shoots. Key Dates:
