This page is for a poetry group called Speaky Blinders, and is in no way associated with the TV phenomenon that is Peaky Blinders. Speaky Blinders was a monthly poetry night that had a two year run before the pandemic. Plans to ressurect the monthly event are ongoing as a suitable venue is yet to be found.

Happy Birthday! Yes! It's two years since the very first Speaky Blinders night. It has been a roller-coaster of a ride with a brief sojourn to different premises and back again - and now it's been halted by Covid 19. But, we do intend to come back eventually. So to celebrate Speaky Blinders _here is a great headline set by The Woodward Brothers, which has just been uploaded to the new Speaky Blinders YouTube channel. Speaky Blinders does hope to return on the other side of this Pandemic. In the meantime Jason Disley one of the hosts of Speaky Blinders is setting up a You Tube channel dedicated to Speaky Blinders. On this channel footage from the Speaky Blinders archives will be uploaded along with any other suitable videos. These could be individual performances by featured poets or other spoken word artists, and anything that the Speaky Blinders community may find of interest. More details coming soon.

Sadly due to the current crisis it has been decided to protect Poets and audiences from any of the risks posed by Coronavirus. Speaky Blinders hopes to return on April 21st. This will be reviewed nearer to the time and our headliner will be announced in due course. In the meantime we ask you all to stay safe. We will be back and I guarantee when we are - it will be a Blinder!
