Attention Oxford jazz lovers, 🚨 🚨 🚨
Don’t miss your chance to see the UK jazz phenomenon, ‘Aspyrian’, at the Mad Hatter, Cowley (OX4 1EA) on WEDNESDAY 16th OCTOBER, as we kick off the academic year! 2022 awardees of the Help Musicians UK Record/Release Fund, ‘Aspyrian’ are a London-based trio blending jazz with an array of folk music traditions from different corners of the world. Influenced also by an eclectic mix of soulful songwriters and alternative bands, the result is an ensemble sound that is captivating and truly unique. The group features:
Robin Porter – Saxophones 🎷
Jack Gillen – Guitar 🎸
Matt Parkinson – Drums 🥁
Aspyrian’s recent single releases have seen thousands of streams and have been selected for multiple prominent jazz playlists. DETAILS: Doors from 7pm, sets from 8pm-10pm with a half-way interval, to be followed by an open jam until 11:30pm (so bring your chops!).
