The White Hart, Otley The local pub and so much more, The White Hart is like pubs used to be. Family run with lots of Hart.

People chatting around the long bar, lots of bar stools, a real fire in winter, doors wide open and a sheltered beer garden for summer. Set on the outskirts of the thriving village of Otley, The White Hart has been a pub for over 150 years; once the home of village allotments and the local well, we are still the best place to come for refreshment in the form of fine local ales, fabulous wines, lush Aspalls cyder and delicious food lovingly prepared by our own fair hands. Keep an eye out for our events, too - there's a lot going on. Incredibly dog friendly (assuming the dog is too as there are always a lot about; biscuits provided) and children are welcome too (as long as they like dogs). Food services are lunch from 12.00 - 14.00 on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and - of course - Sunday 12.00 - 15.00. Evening service is on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 17.00 till 19.30 for walk ins, and until 20.30 if you let us know you are coming. However we are very flexible so if you would like to have a function or something outside these hours, please let us know.

Some very sad news. Geoff, the leader of Glenn and His Jazzmen who have been entertaining you on Friday afternoons for the last couple of years, passed away last week. We are hoping that a band will carry on in that name, but this month we haven’t been able to put together an ensemble. Fingers crossed for next.

We hope you are blowing your trumpet wherever you are, Geoff, and have some cool cats playing with you.

Community lunch is going ahead as usual tomorrow, with lots of lighter meals.

Well, that was some weekend! Thank you to all who make The White Hart so special and hope you have recovered from your hangovers 😂

We are exceptionally open tomorrow from 8.00 p.m. despite it being a Tuesday, as we are showing England’s World Cup game against Ghana. Kick off is at 9.00 p.m. Snacks available.

Then the proper week starts on Wednesday with happy hour from 5 p.m. till 7 p.m. and a lot of very light, salad type specials. 🥵 Keep cool people 😎

The sun is shining and the beer is cold. The curry is hot and the pizza is meaty. It must be Friday in June at The Hart.

We are open for lunch from 12-2 and in the evening from 5 pm today, Friday 19th June.

Tomorrow - Saturday 20th June - we are closed to the general public, but open from Noon on Sunday for Father’s Day. The roasts are lamb and chicken and plenty of other options available. Best to book.

Double bubble tonight with Happy Hour from 5 till 7 and then we are showing the England V Croatia World Cup game at 9 p.m. so you can shout at the telly with your mates and a proper beer in hand. Maybe we were a little hasty in heralding the return of summer but it is definitely warmer and the wind has dropped a bit. So, all in all, a perfect day for a walk to the pub and a slap up roast lunch. As it is warmer we are offering this week’s meats - beef and chicken - with a selection of pub classics as well as with the traditional roast potatoes etc. Lunch from 12 till 3, then drinks till 6.30.

It’s the weekend, and there is no rain forecast. There is even a possibility the sun may shine this evening which has got to mean Sundowners?!?
We’ve got a banging menu this weekend with some delicious fish - the cod for our fish and chips is outstanding at the moment The Fish Box, - and the curry this weekend is a Pork Vindaloo. Not screamingly hot (unless you want it to be 😉) but full of flavour and we’re experimenting with making our own Potato Farls (a sort of Naan bread) so wish us luck.

Guest Ale, cocktails, rosé wine, cold beer - bring on summer.

What a difference a week makes - 32 degrees C to 14! Shall we light the wood burner?!?! Still, the plants are happy and there’s a lot of summer still to come 🤞. Wherry is on happy hour tonight, and we have a lovely specials board with a warming curry, your favourite burger, and delicious sea bass.
