Hi Everyone, just a message from Graeme Kirkham

We've finally got the ball rolling with The Lounge and I'm happy to report that this coming week, all of the pool tables are booked in to be re-clothed with Strachan 861, ready for the start of both the Oswestry Pool League (Tuesday nights) and the Weston Rhyn Pool League (Thursday nights)

We have also got our new darts set ups on order, again ready for the start of the Oswestry Darts League (Friday nights).

We are actively seeking teams to join us and play from The Lounge in the respective leagues mentioned above and if you are interested, we ask that captains of committed teams get in touch with Tomos Lloyd, Ryan Hughes or this current page asap.

The Lounge will cover all of its teams entry fees for the seasons ahead as long as the teams commit to fulfilling all of their fixtures.

With that in mind, please get in touch as soon as possible as the leagues start dates are looming.

An update in terms of fully opening......

We will only be opening The Lounge on these 'league' evenings and specifically only for the teams, as renovation/decoration works are, and will be underway in the front end of the bar specifically for a long time to come yet.

I'm envisaging an approximate full public opening date for the end of November but I will update you all as soon as we have set dates.

Thanks again for being so patient, I promise it'll be worth the wait 👌

Hi, for those of you that don't know me, I'm Graeme, the one who manages the cocktail bar at the back of The Sports Lounge.

Firstly let me apologise to everyone who has been wondering what is going on with The Lounge and for the lack of updates.

After losing our mate, everything regarding The Sports Lounge and cocktail bar was thrown in the air and it's been a very long, difficult process, working out what was going to happen next and how it would all come together, so I didn't want to give any public updates until things became real and official.

I'm now happy to announce that a brand new lease has been completed for The Lounge between myself and Pickstocks, with the magnificent help of their in-house legal team and Séra Hederson-Jones at GHP Legal.

I want to thank Molls nearest, dearest, family and friends for helping me through everything so far and being so supportive, especially at the start of the year!

It's been difficult to wrap my head around everything and I'm still so grateful to Moll for giving me the chance to build something and grow as a person, I'll never forget what he did for me.

There's a job to be done now though and I'm really looking forward to getting The Lounge updated and back open as soon as possible, giving it some much needed TLC, investment and fresh ideas.

But please don't worry....... it wont be re-opening it as a cocktail bar 😅

Pool, darts, live sports, hopefully food and everything you'd expect from a decent sports bar/lounge will be ready for your return, including some really cool new bits which will be shared as we go.

I know lots of you have already offered your help and assistance with the renovation and repairs etc. and over the coming weeks/months, it'll be really appreciated. I'm hoping to have a partner on board at some point to help me with all of this too.

In terms of opening dates, they'll come soon enough (when I have a full plan together for the works), but for now I will just promise that The Lounge will be ready and open to host pool and darts teams which want to make The Lounge their home, ready for the new seasons.

Finally, I just want to say I'm nervously excited about all of this and I really hope that with your help we can make Molly proud and create an exciting new and venue for Oswestry!

P.S We will try and keep this current FB page, however if we can't sort new admins out then we will have to set up a new page, so I'm sure Tomos will post a link if and when needed 👍

Hi all, hope everyone is ok.
I would like to express gratitude on behalf of the family for everyone who attended Andrew ‘Molly’ Moreton’s funeral. It was a great send off for a truly great man. Thank you all for your donations received from the funeral, these have been split between the British Heart Foundation and Midlands/Wales Air Ambulance resulting in both foundation’s receiving £338 each.

Following Andrew “Molly” Moreton’s funeral on Thursday 5th January at 2:30pm at Pentrebychan Crematorium the funeral reception will be held at the Sports Lounge.

The funeral for Andrew (Molly) Moreton will take place on Thursday 5th January, 2:30 p.m at Wrexham Crematorium, to which all friends are respectively invited. Family flowers only, if desired in lieu of flowers donations received will go to British Heart Foundation and Midland Air Ambulance, details of the funeral reception to be confirmed.

Speaking on behalf of his family. It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of Andrew ‘Molly’ Moreton. He will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed.
