Appreciation post to Mr Sip himself .ashley_ 🙏
In 2017 Chris opened ‘The Secret Sip’ which helped change the face of Royton, in doing so he created a contemporary bar with old fashioned values, community lead with an amazing range of beers.

The ‘Sip’ was my safe place, it was a place you could go with friends, partners but most importantly on your own, that’s what made this place special. You sat with strangers that then became friends and for some husband & wife, including myself and Chris in this with lots of our customers attending our special day. Sip clubs were established, charity events, naked calendars and everything in between.
In 2020 we opened ‘The Courtyard Brewery’ - our aim was to make a bigger space and continue the sip feel and boy did we.
Over the past 5 years we continued with our charity events, bike rides to London, Weddings, photo shoots, baby showers and plenty of birthday celebrations. Our seasonal activities of wreath making and breakfast with Santa grew every year and I’ve personally made hundreds of gifts for those Children. Christmas Eve is going to look a bit different this year haha
However this post isn’t about what we have done , it’s a Thank you, a thank you to my husband, the man who lives and breathes SIP .ashley_ had it not been for your dreams and ambitions we would not be where we are today. Although our time in Royton comes to a close today I will always be thankful of that first visit.
Be proud of what you have achieved, what you have given us as a family but most of all what you have given Royton and your customers for 8 years.
Let’s enjoy today, hopefully we will see lots of familiar faces. Love you loads, always Jx 🖤💛

p.s - the courtyard is open Saturday 25th -11am-Midnight 😬
