In winter there are log fires and for the summer there is our Award winning garden to enjoy. The Wheatsheaf has a range of real ales with a guest ale and a guest cider that change regularly to introduce new real ales to our customers. There is a restaurant area for lunches and dinner - although it is also possible to eat in the bar area and garden. The menu is updated regularly with seasonal dishes with a 'Specials' board that is changed weekly. Our meat is supplied from a local butchers and our fruit and vegetables come from the local greengrocers - we try and source as much as possible from local suppliers. Reservations can be made and are advisable especially in the evenings and for the popular Sunday Lunches. The Wheatsheaf is not only located in the heart of Oakham but is also part of the heart of the local community. We have a range of different events that take place through out the year - monthly charity quiz, pub cricket, 5 a side football, petanque, live music nights - are just a few examples. Every one is welcome so please ask at the bar on how to join in! We also televise a number of special sporting events - for example the World Cup (football and rugby), Cheltenham Festival, the 6 Nations - details of any upcoming events are listed in the events section of our page and regularly updated.
