The next phase to save The Gardeners begins.
December 7th 2022 saw Broxtowe Borough Council REJECT the owners plans to develop the site into houses! Whoop whoop - this is a major victory so far!!

The council was so impressed with how the community pulled together and presented a prospectus laying out why the pub should be saved, they quoted that the community should be given time to raise the funds to buy back the pub.

Here's where YOU come in, we need your help and skills to enhance the already formed community group. Do you have any of the following skills and want to be part of saving The Gardeners, can you commit to no more than 2 hours per week?

*Admin skills
*Finance background
*Public speaking
*Passion and willingness to support us to attend meetings

There's fight in the old dogs yet!!
Our Prospectus about how we envisage to operate the Gardeners once we get it back in the communities possession will be completed within a week and will outline the operating model along with details on how to financially invest.

Morning guys
This is a message for everyone that objected to the planning application for the demolition of the gardeners inn .
Having read through the rules and regs of the planning committee it appears at first glance that the person likley to be chosen to speak is likely to be 1 of the closer residents to the proposed development. They can only represent there own complaints and not represent a group or organisation. However if the person chosen is amiable they can add/represent the views of other residents… ANY 1 wishing to speak has to register by phone by monday 5th September by ringing Democratic services .

With this in mind i think if everyone that did object could do this even though only 1 is likely to be chosen it sends a strong message to planning that we are strongly opposed to this development. Ps if you objected but haven’t received an email from Broxtowe council planning check your spam folders .
So come on guys probably the last throw of the dice to be heard lets do this .

Update on The Gardeners Inn, Cossall.

An application has gone in to demolish The Gardeners Inn Awsworth Lane, Cossall and to build 5 houses. 🏡

A planning application has been submitted to Broxtowe Borough Council on 14th March 2022 to build 5 houses on The Gardeners Inn site.

The best thing to do is to make your voices heard now before it's forever too late.

Only certain issues will be considered and others rejected as they don't meet the criteria to object against.
If you want to object please the the Loss of amenity and explain what that loss means to you, your family, the village and the far wider community.

It is with deep regret that we have to cancel the new year's eve party we planned this evening. Unfortunately a number of our staff along with some locals have tested positive for covid.

Our paramount concern and duty is for our customers and staff's safety and with the rising number of local cases we feel we have no choice but to cancel and close the pub for the coming days.

We will update our page when we will next be opening.
