⚽🍻 A Few People Have Been Asking What The Rules Are Whilst The World Cup Is On… 🍻⚽
So, in the interest of avoiding any VAR decisions from management, here are the official pub rules:
1️⃣ We’ll be open for all England matches right until the end… unless they decide to kick off at 2:30am, in which case you’re on your own with the living room and a packet of crisps.
2️⃣ Children who are old enough to sit and enjoy the match are welcome until the final whistle. After that, unfortunately, even if Dad has a full pint left, it’s home time! (Think of it as extra injury time.)
3️⃣ We know football can be emotional, but please keep all clothing on at all times. Nobody wants to see your celebratory helicopter after a last-minute winner.
4️⃣ Our bar staff will be working extra hard, so compliments are always welcome. Examples include:
“You look lovely today,”
“That pint is poured to perfection,” and
“I’ve never seen such professional crisp distribution.”
5️⃣ Full commentary will be on across all screens, so you won’t miss a single tackle, goal, or commentator’s dramatic overreaction.
6️⃣ If England score, celebrating is encouraged. If England win, celebrating is expected. If England win the World Cup, management reserves the right to pretend tomorrow doesn’t exist.
7️⃣ Any customers caught trying to coach the England team through the TV may be asked to submit their CV to the FA.
⚽🏆 Most importantly, be respectful, enjoy yourselves, cheer loudly, and let’s make it a tournament to remember!
COME ON ENGLAND! 🦁🦁🦁🍺
