We have to be honest… Saturday night was a little disappointing for us.

We were really pleased to welcome Anoki Indian to the pub, and they were very well supported with takeaway orders, which was fantastic to see.

However, the whole idea behind having the van here was to create a bit of a village evening — people enjoying a drink at the pub while waiting for their food, or popping in for a drink before or afterwards.

Unfortunately, that didn’t really happen, and the pub itself saw very little extra trade from the evening.

We’d love to be able to do more evenings like this in the future and bring different food options to the village, but for these events to work for the pub, we do need the support of the village too.

We’re not expecting everyone to stay for hours — even just popping in for a drink while you wait makes a huge difference to us.

We really do want to keep bringing things like this to the pub, but if they’re not supported by the pub as well as the food vendors, it simply won’t be possible for us to continue doing them.

Thank you to everyone who did come in and support us last night.
