Opened in 2000 on the lower floors of the former Canal museum, the Canalhouse is famous for having a canal that extends into the building complete with resident narrow boats. Our aim is simple to offer the best craft and world beer experience possible, paralleled with an extensive choice of real ale. With the largest selection of ‘World Beers’ in the East Midlands, travel the world with us guided

by our ever changing beer menu. The Canalhouse currently offers over 150 bottled beers from around the world. With a huge selection of wines and spirits and an extensive range of up to 13 trad ciders, 6 real ales and up to 10 craft beers we truly are the bar of choice. A versatile food offer is available daily with up to 15 specials. At the Canalhouse we have a large events venue above our main bar that can fit up to 200 people, ideal for any occasion from corporate events to wedding receptions. We pride ourselves on our standards and service and can tailor any event to your individual requirements. A large covered beer garden situated by the canal side enables people to sit outside no matter the weather.

Our first Canalside Session of August has just kicked off in the beer garden! Join us until 9:30 tonight for live music from Georgie, playing you into your weekend 🎶

Can’t make this one? Not a problem! You’ve got one more month to make the most of Summer evenings in our pub garden, while supporting local artists. We can’t promise the weather will always be great, but we can promise good beer, good vibes & even better company.

It’s National White Wine Day! Celebrate with our completely revamped wine menu – carefully curated by our management team to deliver the best taste and the best quality.

Why not try our house white? La Vivienda is a light, easy-drinking Spanish blend. Our new edition combines Verdejo and Macabeo grapes for a balanced, crisp and smooth finish – making for the perfect beer garden bev!

Fight off the Sunday Scaries and treat yourself to lunch down the pub. We’ve got plenty of options: from our pizza flatbreads, paninis and rustic sandwiches, to loaded fries, burgers, salads and more – there’s something for everyone to enjoy. 🍕

The weather held out for us today – another beautiful day by the canal. We’ve got more live music in the beer garden, so pop down before 9:30pm to soak up the sun with us! 🎵🍺
