Opened in 2000 on the lower floors of the former Canal museum, the Canalhouse is famous for having a canal that extends into the building complete with resident narrow boats. Our aim is simple to offer the best craft and world beer experience possible, paralleled with an extensive choice of real ale. With the largest selection of ‘World Beers’ in the East Midlands, travel the world with us guided

by our ever changing beer menu. The Canalhouse currently offers over 150 bottled beers from around the world. With a huge selection of wines and spirits and an extensive range of up to 13 trad ciders, 6 real ales and up to 10 craft beers we truly are the bar of choice. A versatile food offer is available daily with up to 15 specials. At the Canalhouse we have a large events venue above our main bar that can fit up to 200 people, ideal for any occasion from corporate events to wedding receptions. We pride ourselves on our standards and service and can tailor any event to your individual requirements. A large covered beer garden situated by the canal side enables people to sit outside no matter the weather.

WHO WILL YOU BE RAISING MONEY FOR THIS WATERFRONT?

There’s only 3 weeks to go until Waterfront 2026, so it’s time to meet our charities! This year, we’ll be raising money for two causes that do amazing work in our community. 🩷

🏠 First up is Emmanuel House! Emmanuel House supports anybody considered vulnerably housed. They’re an independent charity, and rely on your donations to continue helping hundreds of people in dire circumstances.

🧠 Our newer charity edition is Mind, who help provide mental health resources and education all over England and Wales. Throughout 2023/24 alone, they answered 122,000 calls via their support line. Your donations and support will help Mind continue reaching those in need.

THE RAIN WON’T STOP US! ☔️

Thank you to everyone who popped down for Canalside Sessions today, although it was a rainy one. We moved inside because of the turn in weather, but Matt Chapman still brought the good vibes 😎

Matt will be playing until 9pm tonight! We’ll be back next week, hopefully outside and in the sunshine. Pop down from 7pm for a post-work pint, and support local artists at the same time. We’ll cheers to that 🍻

SPRITZ SEASON HAS ARRIVED!

We recently updated our full Spritz range, just in time to soak up the beer garden weather 👀

🍊 Our usual, classic Aperol Spritz hasn’t changed. Enjoy Aperol and prosecco over ice, lengthened with soda and garnished with an orange slice

🥭 Brand new to the line-up is our Sarti Spritz: fruity with notes of mango, passion fruit, and blood orange

🌴 Who go? Hugo! You can’t go wrong with a Hugo Spritz. A refreshing choice, made from elderflower liqueur, prosecco, soda water, mint, and lime
