1st & 3rd Saturday of the month. This is an open invitation, regardless of age or ability, to swim naturally in your local indoor complex with pool and flume, children’s pool, sauna, jacuzzi. Unfortunately the poolside cafe, has now closed. After the swim you can dress and take the time to relax in

our luxurious bar, whilst socialising with your local community. Its important that local people use our local facilities to keep them open. All visitors should be aware that this is a naturist event and swimwear is not required, nor acceptable during these periods. We make exceptions to this for ladies when necessary and bikini bottoms are allowed at such times. Children can wear swimming costumes. It is recommended that you bring two towels – one to sit on and one to dry with, soap, hair brush and shampoo. Lockers have been installed and require a £1:00 coin, you will get the £1:00 back. The cost of the swims remain at £6.50 per adult and free for children. The priced is correct, as going to press. South Forest Leisure Centre

Are folks aware of this event — an evening skinny dip with optional food afterwards — on 26th June?

Apparently they ran one last year, and the next one after this is in September.
You’ll need a head torch and a buoy. Tickets start from £8.

The latest episode of BBC Radio 4’s Screenshot explores the long and often controversial history of nudity in film and television. Mark Kermode and Ellen E Jones speak with filmmakers and critics about how nakedness on screen has shifted from shock and titillation to a tool for honesty, vulnerability and storytelling.

Film critic Pamela Hutchinson discusses landmark moments in cinema and how changing cultural attitudes have shaped what audiences see. Writer director Bridgett M. Davis reflects on her 1996 film Naked Acts, which examined the pressures and expectations placed on women — especially Black women — when it comes to on screen nudity. Director Tim Mielants talks about his film Patrick, set in a nudist camp, where nudity is treated as ordinary and unremarkable.

Overall, the episode presents nudity much like social nudity advocates describe it: a state of authenticity, equality and lack of pretence, where people are simply themselves without the signals clothing can send.
