Dear customers and the public,
Recently we have been getting lots of complaints and feedback about the welfare of our pet rabbit Qjai.
To start off this post we would like to say that the rabbit Qjai is healthy and well taken care off the owner has had him for 8 years now and has owned rabbits her whole life.
From the recent reviews we can see that everyone is concerned with the size of his cage and the location of his cage in the cafe,
The cage that his is in is perfect size for him to sleep and eat from in which is the main use for the cage the rest of the day his cage is open which allows him to free roam on the grassed area.
The staff will open up his cage when they get in and tend to him throughout the day making sure he is happy, fed and cleaned. The only time we have to put him back in the cage is when service gets busy due to us not being able to keep eyes on him all the time.
He is free to roam most of the day but sadly we do have to put him back in the cage at night for safety as there is lots of areas which have wires and lots of areas that are dangerous for him we are waiting for a fence to arrive which will be placed to block him escaping the grass area.
As for the location, his cage is in a safe and comfortable area for him the noise does not pe*****te the windows so that area is quite and there is no speakers in that area, he often likes to watch the people walk by as people will stop and wave at him.
We would like to state the owner is very busy since opening the cafe and spend barely enough time at home so she thought it would be a good idea to place him in the cafe where he does not have to stay in the cage or alone in her home all the time and has space to play and people to interact with him.
We will always take time to read the feedback given to us and we have seen lots of comments that we need the read the RWAF guidelines and after reading them we have seen that we have not gone against any of them, he is a singular rabbit so the cage size is good for him to sleep and eat in with the option to free roam during the day is perfect.
We here at Kōfuku consider both our animals as part of our family and make sure that the safety of Qjai and Yosuku are just as much as a priority and running the cafe day to day.
The aim of this post is to give everyone the full story and a full view of the care for our animals and show we are not neglecting them or treating them poorly.
Thank you for reading this and if you have any more questions or concerns feel free to, message or come in and talk to us
