Grapes Hill Community Garden, Norwich A small garden near Norwich city centre, used by the local community to grow vegetables, fruit, ornamentals and herbs. Open to all every day from 9am.

Closes 8pm (May - Aug), 6pm (March, April, Sept, Oct), 4.30pm / dusk (Nov - Feb). The garden is tucked away behind the St Benedict’s View business units at the bottom of Grapes Hill. Not far from the Reindeer Pub, 10, Dereham Road. It is open everyday from 9am until dusk and anyone can enjoy this community space free of charge. It is a mainly edible garden with trees, fruits, flowers, herbs and ev

en some beautiful community art. It hosts affordable courses and workshops, in the garden, often with free or subsidised places. The Grapes Hill Community Garden Group runs several events during the year including live music, nature themed events, hawk and owl displays, theatre, poetry, concerts, community picnics etc. Volunteers and members maintain the garden on Wednesdays and Sundays (times to be confirmed). You can rent raised beds to grow your own vegtables on an annual basis from as little as £5 a year. Membership is optional – it just helps raise funds to keep the garden going for the whole community! Membership from as little as £3 a year. We've a weekend of wonderful events in the garden for you.

Saturday 11am -2pm is our Seasonal Connections workshop celebrating the Summer Solstice. Free. Drumming, singing and shared food. Free but pre-booked only: [email protected]

This is followed by Tai Chi 2:30-3:30. Free and no need to book.

Sunday sees our events for Refugee Week close with International Celebration 11am - 3pm Food, live music, stalls and language tasters. Free. All welcome. No need to book.

Our regular gardening session in this afternoon, 2 - 4pm. No need to bring anything or have any experience. Just turn up...

Come and play Giant Connect 4 and giant snakes and ladders, or other games. Free, and no need to book.

We're hosting three events starting with acoustic jam today at 5pm in the garden (there will be gazebos)

We'll be singing Citizen Shanty by commoners choir, What a Wonderful World and other international themed songs - please bring your favourite to share.

Our Refugee Week activities continue with games on Wednesday and our International Celebration on Sunday.

A reminder of all the activities happening this week.

Our Sunday volunteer gardening session is this afternoon 1 - 4pm - just come along - we'd love to see you. No experience necessary.

Tomorrow our International Acoustic Jam for is 5-7pm in the garden (gazebos will be up)

Wednesday is another opportunity to do some gardening 2 - 4pm and then games in the garden - including family friendly giant games from 4pm - 6pm. No need to book for either.

Thursday is our rescheduled Yoga in the Garden with Sue - email [email protected] to check for spaces.

Saturday we have a celebration of the Summer Solstice in our seasonal connection workshop 11-2. Drumming, singing, shared food. Free but please book: [email protected]

This is followed by Majeed's weekly Tai Chi moving mediation from 2:30-3:30. Free and no need to book.

Then our Refugee Week events end with our International Celebration. Singing and language workshops, poetry, live music, free food and stalls.
