NATIONAL CHAMPIONS.
The Norfolk over 45 men’s team have today won the National Inter County Championship for the second consecutive year. After travelling to Cambridge for the qualification weekend in February the team headed to
Warwickshire for the National Finals. After a commanding 4/1 win against Warwickshire in the semi finals the team faced a strong Surrey team in the final. Once again the Norfolk team produced some sensational squash and a combination of experience and team bonding helped to produce another 4/1 victory. Picture above shows the team for the final: Jamie Goodrich, Ian Cox, Marcus Cowie, Stuart Cowie and David Gouldby. Neil Cross and Steve Moxey are not pictured but played an essential part of the team, Steve winning during the first weekend and Neil winning a crucial match in the semi final ensuring the teams passage to the final.

Our Norfolk mens team away at Intercounty in Pontefract. Playing with team shirts in memory of Craig Aldred, 1972-2026. A long term squash coach in Norfolk and a friend of everyone in the squash community.

Norfolk lost 3/2 to Oxfordshire this morning. They will play for 5/8 against Wiltshire this afternoon.

We’ll be playing Scotland and Wales today across Courts 4 and 5, with play getting underway from 12pm.

Dear Norfolk Squash Family,

We are heartbroken and still coming to terms with the sudden loss of Craig Aldred. It is hard to put into words just how much he meant to the squash community. Craig was not only the cornerstone of squash coaching at EATSC formerly Barnham Broom and a fixture of Norfolk Squash, but also a familiar, friendly presence supporting everyone he met.

He was truly at the heart of our community. Craig’s dedication, warmth, and consistency shaped the experience of so many squash players. His coaching was of the highest standard, but it was his genuine care for people that made such a lasting impact. He will be deeply missed by us all. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family and close friends during this incredibly difficult time.

EATSC Court 1 will be closed throughout next week and will be available as a quiet space for everyone to pay their respects and remember Craig. You are welcome to bring tributes, however, please keep in mind that all items will be passed on to his family at the end of the week. While flowers may be difficult to deliver, cards and non-perishable items would be most appropriate.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Craig tragically passed away yesterday in a motorcycle accident (4th April 2026)

Our hearts have been shattered into a million pieces, and our lives won't ever be the same without him. Those of you that had the fortune of knowing Craig will know he had a heart of gold.
