Really sorry I did miss someone off. I had the list but have missed the line with Colin and Winn which is now added. Apologies to them both as they have been very loyal toward us. Nicola found my error 🥴.

GOODBYE AND THANKS.

Good day to you all so as Nicola and I set out on our next chapter of life we wanted to thank everyone who have helped us make the Oddies a happy and safe environment for all.

The five years has gone very quickly but we’ve had a great time running a great local.

There are so many people to mention so I apologise if I miss anyone out.

To our two most loyal patrons and now friends Daz and Villa Pattie we thank them both for great time’s and many laughs during the past five years. To members of our old County Arms football team Wayne Coyle (and of course Shayne and the rest of the family), Dave Burnside and David Young all of whom have been great regulars.

To all our darts teams, domino’s teams and football teams for the great support they have given us during our time in the Oddies. Thank you to them all for their loyalty.

We have made many new friends who have not only been loyal but helpful in our time at the Oddies these include our friends Linda and Dave Ashman and Phil and Sue Watson.

To many other loyal customers such as Julie and Jerry and all their friends including Teresa and Bertie. To Noel from the dominos team and Terry Pickersgill also from the Dom’s teams.

To Tracey and Richard (our printer) for the support and loyalty they showed toward us.

To Kerrie and Daryl and all their family for continued support.

To our Friday afternoon men Steve, John and Tony for many laughs.

To our Sunday night doms players Alan, Mick, Mick and John. Also to Rose and Owen for showing loyalty toward our local.

To my Liverpool supporters friends John, Jim, Jim and Alan (we will continue to drink together as the Oddies Travellers)

To Pete and Sue (our coffee queen 😄)

To the Buffs for holding meetings at the Oddies and for their support.

To the Bell Ringers for Sunday tea times.

To Wendy, Phil and Lin Richardson (🤪) and all the girls.

To Clanger and the Saturday doms players.

A special thanks to Colin for organising our quizzes.

A big thanks to our Sunday Dinner regulars Chrissie Grimston and friends, Rob, Lin and friends, Mr and Mrs Stead and all the ladies and gents from Arden Court we loved your company.

To Colin and Winn who supported us during Sunday Dinners, Quiz nights and live music events, we thank them for great loyalty.

To my good friend and sign writer Frank Hindmarsh and his very patient 🤣 wife Kath.

To my long time friend and entertainer George Webb and Karen.

To my Friday club friends for your support and friendship which continues into the next chapter (Trev 35 years and counting).

A big big thank you to our former bar lady, friend and part of the family Patty (love you lots).

Also a really special thanks to all our staff over the five years especially Sam Bowie, Dave Young, Jake, Adam, Becca and Chloe, you are always part of our family

A extremely special thanks to all our family Sam, Ste, Carly, Dave, Annalee, Keenan, Evie, Ole and our very popular waiter Leo.

We would also like to thank Caroline, Lin, Stuart and Ged our landlords during the last five years, thank you for our time running the pub and I trust we have left you with a legacy to build on.

Good luck to the new Landlord Paul and his family. Please give them the support you gave us.

Finally thanks to all our customers who supported a local business. Sadly COVID-19 gave us an end we didn’t want but we believe the past five years have been a great success.

We wish you all the very best for the future we will miss you all but I’m sure we will see you in and around the town.

THANK YOU LOVE FROM
Nicola and Terry

Good morning all as previously stated Nic and I will be leaving the Oddies on Friday 31st July.

I just wanted to put some rumours to bed.

We are leaving for personal reasons. We want a bit more freedom to do other things in our life.

I’m not retiring but will be having a couple of months off at which time I will be in the job market.

The Owners of the building who have been our landlords for 5 years will be running the pub until the new lease holder can take over which will be in the next month.

We would like to thank Lin, Caroline, Ged and Stuart for the relationship we have had in the past 5 years. We have not had any issues and have not fallen out with anyone as is one of the rumours going around.

As stated above we are leaving to have more time together and with our family.

Unfortunately it is not possible under present guidelines to have a leaving party. If any of our regulars wish to come in during next week to have a drink with us that would be great. It will be a low key farewell but we are not going away so you will still see us in the Oddies and around town.

I will put a final post on here next week as an official goodbye.

I trust we will see many of you during our last week. Our daughter Sam and all our family will also be around at certain times next week.

Good afternoon all a reminder of our new hours as things are a little different at present.

Monday: 3:00 to 23:00
Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday: 3:00 to 23:00
Thursday: 3:00 to 23:00
Friday: 12 noon to 12 midnight
Saturday: 12 noon to 12 midnight
Sunday: 12 noon to 21:00

These time’s are subject to change based on numbers in the pub. As we’ve said previously it needs to be viable to remain open.

Once again thank you to all those customers who have supported us since the re-opening, we do really appreciate it.

Regards to all

Terry and Nicola

This is pub life at present. No darts so Monday’s are very quite.

Would you expect us to stay open?

Not viable.

Sad to say pubs have lost a lot already and people are still worried about coming out. We only have a few weeks left so I just hope it gets better for all pubs in the future.

12/07/2020

Good evening all once again thank you to those who continue to support us in these challenging times.

Unfortunately we have had to close early tonight due to how quite it is.

During these times we are adjusting our hours accordingly as it needs to be viable for us to stay open. This is as we need more staff than normal due to table service and sanitising that needs carrying out on a regular basis.

Thank you for your understanding.

Terry and Nicola.

08/07/2020

Good day to everyone and thank you for your support so far. However a few things we need to reiterate are as follows:

1. You must stay away from the bar, table service will be provided.

2. When sitting inside, only people from the same household or with one other household can sit together.

3. No groups will be allowed unless in the garden (6 maximum). Social distance must still be respected.

4. Smoking only in the back (not at the front of the pub) and only two at anyone time.

5. Closing time’s will be strict so last orders will be at 10:50 each week day and 11:50 on weekends. This gives us time to sanitise the pub when you have all gone home.

6. No cash, CARD Payment only. To ensure we keep staff safe from cross contamination.

7. No bar tabs. Pay as you go.

8. No toddlers. Children from 7 years old allowed upto 6:00pm at the latest.

9. No standing areas in the pub.

Please understand we are following the guidelines from Government we do not make the rules. Please respect the guidelines and our staff at all times.

04/07/2020

That’s the first day done and although not normal I think it went well. Steady not rammed but a nice steady all day.

A massive thank you, to all those who came in to support us today.

It was great to see you all again, after so long.

Thank you for following the guidelines.

Thinks will get easier as we learn to deal with the restrictions.

😃😃😃.

03/07/2020

Good evening all, after a lot of hard work by Nic, myself, our daughter Sam and our staff we are ready for tomorrow. Everything is sanitised and will be repeated throughout each day.

Please remember we have a 1 metre distance rule and no groups unless from same household will be allowed in.

We have limited numbers as some tables removed and no room for standing. If weather is kind we have the garden.

We will need all our customers to help make the Oddies a safe and welcoming environment for all.

A walk through on the video below.

Look forward to seeing our regulars.

Good luck to all local businesses opening tomorrow.

03/07/2020

It’s been a long three months, in the beginning it seemed a bit of fun, but it has got harder for many people and many small businesses. So tomorrow we start the move back to normality.

I was posting a song most weeks but haven’t done that since my anniversary on 17th May.

So for one last time I dedicate this song to all the Oddfellows Arms Regulars.

02/07/2020

We are very nearly ready to open but to be honest the guidelines will mean we will only get around 36 in the pub plus the garden if weather is kind to us.

I realise a lot have asked for tables to be held which we will do our best to do but cannot promise.

We will be giving priority to our regulars.

If we are full we will need to refuse entry until someone leaves.

We would ask that you do not take up a table if you are not drinking.

We will not be serving hot drinks as staff need to be available in the bar area.

We would further ask for your understanding and patience at this difficult time.

Other than that enjoy yourself 🥴🥴🤣🤣.

Looking forward to see you.

Terry and Nicola

Good afternoon all, we have set out below guidelines for opening of the pub at 12noon on Saturday 4th July. A copy of these will be on every table when you arrive. When each table is vacated we will sanitise the tables and the laminated notes.

Please read these before coming to the pub to ensure you understand the guidelines we will be following.

Unfortunately at this time we will not be serving food and this is unlikely to change for sometime. I am sure food will return to the Oddies at some point in the future.

As many of you will be aware Nicola and I along with our daughter Sam were supposed to have finished in the pub on June 30th. However due to the lockdown we have extended our time for one more month so as we can see you all before we leave. Our new leaving date is 31st July.

The Owners Stuart, Caroline, Lin and Ged will be taking over on 1st August until they find a new person to take on the lease.

If you or anyone you know is interested in taking on a successful and great local please contact the owners or leave your details behind the bar with myself, Nicola or Sam.

Our opening hours for July will be as follows:

Monday: 3:00pm to 11:00pm
Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday: 3:00pm to 11:00pm
Thursday: 3:00pm to 11:00pm
Friday: 12 noon to 12 midnight
Saturday: 12 noon to 12 midnight
Sunday: 12 noon to 11:00pm

Please note due to the restrictions we will be keeping strictly to our closing times as above.

We are looking forward to seeing you all once more in the Oddies.
