We just wanted to jump on and give you a small glimpse into what this week has been like for us since the parking charges were introduced in North Berwick.
After a couple of great weeks, and feeling like summer was finally getting back into full swing, we now feel as though weโre back in January. The Imperial car park behind us has been almost empty since Monday. Footfall has dropped drastically around the town, and itโs been a very strange week for us. ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
We know there is a lot of confusion surrounding the charges, as well as a great deal of frustration, but your high street will suffer without your support if you avoid it entirely. Independently owned businesses are facing enough challenges as it is, and this feels like yet another blow at a time when many are already struggling.
We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has continued to visit us this week. Your support means everything to us. We sincerely hope the council takes into account the knock-on effect these changes are having on businesses like ours, which simply cannot afford for the town centre to become deserted. Itโs only day 4 of the charges, and it may not seem like much, but for small businesses, 4 uncertain days is worrying. We hope these issues are addressed and rectified sooner rather than later, before any lasting damage is done to the businesses that help make North Berwick such a bustling place to visit โค๏ธ
