Continuing the 200-year tradition of the Newton Arms being a family-run, welcoming village pub, the Beresfords took ownership in 1996. Alongside the usual great selection of beers, wines and spirits, there are a few surprises. The Newton Arms has an impressive malt whisky selection, an ever-changing range of craft beers, a weekly rotation of fresh cask ales and a selection of gins and rums that wo

uld make a pirate blush! The relaxing lounge plays host to various events. With live music and comedy nights as well as family-friendly open mic afternoons and monthly quizzes, there’s something for everyone. On top of this, the pub also hosts a hugely popular annual beer and music festival. The Newton Arms supports the village football teams, as well as hosting their own pool and darts teams. Right next door you'll find Newtonhill Tandoori which offers a first-class Nepalese takeaway and delivery service, and at the rear of the pub is Newton Design Hair Studio which has been serving the local community and beyond for more than ten years. • If still tied, the prize will be shared.
