💔 Tonight is our last night at Kinn Kinn at The Lamb 💔
Well… this is a hard post to write.
Tonight we’re closing Kinn Kinn at The Lamb for the final time. We want to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone who’s eaten with us, supported us, popped in for a pint, shared a kind word, or simply gave us a go. It genuinely means more than you know.
This venture didn’t work out the way we hoped — and sometimes that’s just the honest truth of hospitality.
The good news: you can still find our tasty Thai street food at Kinn Kinn Thai in Newport Market and Gloucester food dock, where the love (and the footfall!) continues ❤️
A massive thank you as well to all our staff, past and present, who’ve been part of this journey. You showed up, grafted hard, and stuck with us through some very challenging times — we’re incredibly grateful.
Why are we closing?
We’ve tried to be resilient, creative, and positive — but the reality has been tough:
• Very low footfall in town
• Three staff members mugged outside within six months
• Constant issues just to manage waste and bins
• Ongoing antisocial behaviour in the square
• Pedestrianisation making deliveries and maintenance difficult
• Rising business rates, tax changes, supplier costs, and general cost-of-living pressures
• Despite £3 pints, live music, and new concepts, it’s been hard work
• On New Year’s Eve, at midnight, there were just seven people on Cambrian Road — the town was quiet, habits have changed, and times move on
This isn’t just us — many businesses are being squeezed from every angle, and customers simply don’t have the spare cash they once did.
One last thing ❤️
If anyone is interested in taking on the lease, please send us a message and we’ll happily pass the details on.
And when the pub reopens in its next chapter — please support it. Local hospitality only survives if people use it.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you.
Much love,
The Kinn Kinn Team 🇹🇭💔
If you’re in tonight, come say goodbye 👋
