Isle of Wight Sweetcorn Fayre Isle of Wight Seetcorn Fayre The annual Sweetcorn Fayre is great fun for all the family. 24-25 September 2011, 10am-5pm daily.

Celebrating the sweetcorn harvest and everything about sweetcorn, you can enjoy country fun like tractor rides and terrier racing, country crafts, a beer festival and lots of yummy sweetcorn to eat. The Sweetcorn Fayre takes place in Arreton Old Village and you can visit the craftsmen in the village, the Dairyman's Daughter pub and Farmer Jacks Farm Shop. mber. Only £2.50 per person and children under 11 go free. The Sweetcorn Fair raises money for charity - in 2011 Earl Mountbatten Hospice.

John Allen won the sweetcorn speed eating competition in 21 seconds to clean a cob. Car return with 4 passengers from WightLink was the top prize. Not bad!

Sweetcorn speed eating Saturday winners: Adults - Yvon Perrin and Aisha Cutts (dead heat at 27 seconds); Kids; Bobby Stickland in 34 seconds. The times will be compared to Sunday's winners to decide the top prize! Adults winner will get a Wightlink car and 4 free return!
