We are launching a new project called Tiny Toes – Big Steps.

FREE music sessions for children aged 0–5 in west Newcastle

What’s it all about? Singing, dancing, playing. Fun for the little ones, and a chance for you to relax, chat and meet other parents/carers.

Why it matters: Helps with listening, talking, moving, connecting … and growing up together – all wrapped up in a good time.

Everyone welcome: Open to all families from west Newcastle’s diverse communities.

Led by Sofia de Castro: A very experienced early years music tutor.

Every Tuesday, 10-11:30am: 6 October – 8 December 2026
Join us for as many Tuesdays as you’d like.

The Globe music venue, Railway Street, NE4 7AD

Next up on the line-up for The Mercury Prize fringe Globe showcase we have Rye Rye was raised in Lithuania on a mix of sung poetry and underground electronic music - a combination that still shapes everything she writes. Now based in Newcastle, she makes songs for late nights, overthinking, and feeling too much: electric guitar, electronic textures, and hypnotic rhythms pulse beneath her voice as it moves between power and fragility, unflinchingly honest about the parts of ourselves we often try to hide.
Her 2024 debut EP I Feel Everything announced her arrival, earning airplay on BBC 6Music and support from LRT Opus, Lithuania's leading national radio station. She later followed it up with the single Could We Be Quiet Now? (2026), earning airplay from BBC 6Music and LRT Opus once again. Ticket link in bio.
