Thank you so much to Ceri Creffield for letting me know about Caerphilly Council's plans to withdraw its subsidy of £485,000 per year to run Llancaiach Fawr Manor. This is devastating news for the manor as it means that it could close, which would be a huge loss.

The Companye is very much looking forward to supporting our local town in December, when we take part in the Newcastle Emlyn Victorian Christmas Evening on Wednesday 7th December 2022.

We'll be there in all our Victorian finery, so why not come along and help us support local.

We are pleased that the Newcastle Emlyn Victorian Night will be held on Wednesday 7th December.
Let’s all get behind the event and support local.
If you are interested in taking part please email the Town Council.

We have lost our Queen today and we are heartbroken. May we take a moment to remember this remarkable, extraordinary, loyal woman, who dedicated her life to her country to the end. My thoughts are with her family … they have lost a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. May she rest in peace, reunited with her beloved Philip 💔

It’s a glorious sunny day here at Pembroke. His majesty King Henry VIII and his wife Katheryn Parr have joined his daughter Mary Tudor, and his grace the 3rd Duke of Norfolk. Henry is enjoying visiting the birth place of his father.

On this day in history (well, yesterday actually but let’s not split hairs 😃) ... 30th August 1548 … Katheryn Parr gave birth to her daughter, Lady Mary Seymour. Having survived Henry VIII, who died in January 1547, Katheryn went on to marry for the 4th time to the love of her life, Sir Thomas Seymour. Their happiness at the birth of their daughter was unfortunately short lived, as Katheryn died on 5th September 1548 with her daughter hardly a week old. Katheryn is buried in the church at Sudeley Castle, where you can visit and see her tomb.

I’ve portrayed Katherine Parr on a number of occasions now, and it’s always such an honour and delight to recreate my favourite of Henry’s queens.

These photos were taken at Sudeley Castle a few years ago, but they remain firm favourites. Thank you Karen Bowman for taking them.

You can meet me this coming Sunday at Pembroke Castle, accompanied by Henry VIII and other members of the group. I can’t wait to see you there.

We have had an amazing weekend at Raglan Castle, for the Raglan Castle Multi-era weekend. It was so wonderful to catch up with our fellow reenactors and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting the visitors and telling them all about our personas and the Tudors. Here are just a few photos, there’ll be more 😃
