🐾🍺 Black Labradors, country pubs and a pint of ale…

Apparently, the traditional British country pub is something of a nostalgic fantasy!

Well, we beg to differ.

Here at The White Hart, Newbold on Stour, we’re very much real. As are the muddy paws, the pints of ale, the farmers, the locals, the laughter and the wonderful community that makes a village pub so special.

Country pubs aren’t a thing of the past. They’re part of the heart and soul of rural Britain, bringing people together from all walks of life.

And with the Budget putting the future of hospitality firmly in the spotlight, perhaps the focus should be less on the image of a country pub and more on ensuring these much loved places have a future.

Because the real danger isn’t nostalgia. It’s losing our country pubs altogether.

Walking into the pub on a Tuesday evening to find it buzzing with chatter, laughter and people enjoying themselves really is the best feeling.

There’s something quite special about seeing a busy pub on an ordinary weekday evening and it’s exactly what we’d hoped The White Hart would become.

Last night, we sat in the snug, looking out at our busy pub and had one of those moments where we just felt incredibly happy. ❤️

Running a pub is certainly not for the faint hearted, especially when you’re juggling two other businesses alongside it! There are long days, late nights, challenges and moments when you wonder what on earth you’ve taken on. 😂

But then you have a night like last night, and it reminds you exactly why you did.

The atmosphere was buzzing. The pub was alive with chatter and laughter, familiar faces mixing with new ones, people catching up, making memories and simply enjoying being together.

And as we sat there taking it all in, we realised that everything we’d imagined The White Hart could be was happening right in front of us.

It wasn’t just a busy pub. It was the feeling we’d always wanted to create.

A proper village pub. A place where people feel welcome, where friendships are made, where there’s always a familiar face and where people genuinely want to spend their time.

There’s still so much we want to do, and we’re still learning as we go, but last night was one of those moments we’ll treasure.

To our wonderful team and everyone who continues to walk through our doors, thank you for helping bring our vision to life.

This is what it’s all about. The heart of The White Hart. ❤️
