What a weekend of golf. 🏆

The Cappro Cup®️ 2026 has come to a close and after two days of incredible competition, it’s Stuart Wilson’s Professional’s team who take the trophy in what turned out to be a thrilling finale.

Final Score: Captain’s Team 11 – 13 Professional’s Team

Day 2 Singles told quite a story. The Captain’s team came out fighting and put in a brilliant shift across the 12 matches. But the Professional’s team had done enough to hold on, with Alan Taylor sealing the win for the Pro’s side on the 17th hole to confirm the result.

It was a fitting end to a weekend that had everything, competitive golf played in the very best spirit, outstanding performances across both teams, and a real sense of occasion from start to finish.

A huge thank you to every single player who took part this weekend. The way this event was played, the competitiveness, the camaraderie, the spirit — is exactly what the Cappro Cup®️ is all about.

Thank you to Bassetts Motor Group for their generous sponsorship of the event, and most importantly a massive thank you to Stuart Wilson for organising such a brilliant occasion. The whole club is grateful for the effort and passion he puts into making it an incredible event.

Day 1 of the Cappro Cup ® 2026 is done and after a long day of Fourballs and Greensomes across 36 holes, it’s the Professional’s team who end the day with the upper hand. 🏆

Captain’s Team 4.5 – 7.5 Professional’s Team

It’s been a brilliant day of competitive golf but Stuart Wilson’s side have edged ahead and will head into tomorrow’s Singles with momentum on their side. That said, with 12 points still up for grabs across the Singles format, Captain Kris Richards and his team will know there is more than enough to play for.

More good news for Glynneath Golf Club — two new projects are getting underway in the coming weeks and months. 🏗️

We’re delighted to announce that two further improvement projects are getting underway at Glynneath Golf Club, continuing what has been a period of real and sustained investment in the club’s future.

First up, solar panels will be installed at the club, helping us generate our own electricity, reduce our reliance on the grid, and manage our long-term energy costs more sustainably.

Alongside this, work will begin on a series of accessibility improvements across the course and facilities, including designated accessible parking bays, improved pathways and access routes, and new wayfinding signage. The aim is simple: to make Glynneath a place that everyone can enjoy, regardless of ability.

Both projects have been made possible with the support of grant funding from Sport Wales, Wales Golf and Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority, and we’re incredibly grateful for their backing.

These announcements come off the back of a number of other recently completed projects, including the refurbishment of our practice nets, a new short-game practice area, improvements to our heating system, and a full refurbishment of the women’s changing facilities, all of which have been delivered over the past twelve months with similar grant support.

It’s been a fantastic period of growth for this club and there is more still to come. Thank you to every member for your continued support. 🏌️⛳

It’s here. The Cappro Cup 2026 gets underway tomorrow. 🏆

Captain Kris Richards leads his team into battle against PGA Professional Stuart Wilson and his side across two days of competition — Fourballs in the morning and Greensomes in the afternoon, with Saturday’s action leading into Sunday’s conclusion.

A brilliant set of pairings across both teams and a well-earned place in the competition for every player involved. The Cappro Cup has been one of the highlights of the qualifying calendar all season and tomorrow it all comes down to who wants it most.

Today is Day and there's no team more deserving of recognition than ours. 🌿

The course at Glynneath has never been in better shape. The reviews from members, visiting societies and guests have been outstanding all season, and none of that happens without the dedication and passion of the people working behind the scenes every single day.

At the heart of it all is Daryl, Big D, whose commitment to this course goes far beyond a job description. Over 30 years in the profession and his standards have never dropped. He sets the tone, drives the quality, and his fingerprints are on every fairway, every green, and every detail that makes this course what it is.

Alongside him, a huge thank you to Dan, Aaron, and Lyndsey, three brilliant additions to the team who bring their own dedication and hard work every day, and who play a bigger part in the finished product than many will ever realise.

Greenkeeping is one of those roles that earns more criticism than credit on a bad day, and not nearly enough praise on a good one. Today we want to change that. Thank you to all three for everything you do. 👏💚

What a weekend. 🏆

The Glynrwder Cup returned this weekend for another three days of brilliant competition, bringing together players from across the club for one of the most anticipated events of the season.

This year's captains were "Diamond" Daniel Davies, leading his team Diamonds in The Rough, and Chris Foote, captaining Footy's Flag Hunters, and after three days of hard fought competition across Friday, Saturday and Sunday, it was Footy's Flag Hunters who came out on top.

Good luck to Peter Henderson, Geraint Greenow, Alan Gillard and Alan Taylor who are at Maesdu Golf Club in Llandudno to compete in the Welsh Men’s Handicap Team Championship Final!

Having qualified in style back in July — coming in joint first at the qualifier with Alan Taylor also claiming the best individual score on the day, the team have more than earned their place at the final.
