'The Very Best In Stand Up' - 4 top comedians from the international stand-up circuit every show.

Summer is making way for autumn and that can only mean one thing - A new season of the Very Best In Stand Up!

Maff Brown compered a show opened by Keith Farnan, wowing with some brilliantly improvised audience work. Christian Reilly brought rock star energy to the middle, wielding his guitar and some incredibly close and funny musical impressionism. Closing the show was a return from Josh Jones with material from his recent tour show, delivered hilariously in a 25 minute set that flew by.

Live comedy is back at the Civic this Friday!

In a line-up change, Russell Hicks has had to cancel in the compere slot, but replacing him we'll have the excellent Maff Brown. Maff's been the resident compere at the award winning Outside The Box comedy and was last with us in 2023. We're delighted to welcome him back and will look to reschedule Russell for a future show.

🙌 Football might not be coming home but live comedy is!

A brand new season kicks off on Friday 4th September with four top acts. For the 5th year in a row, tickets are priced £12 and on sale now at civiccomedy.co.uk or Nantwich Civic Hall. Table reservations, as usual, available to groups of 6 or more.

Back in 2010, We announced a Very Best In Stand Up line-up of Miles Jupp, Justin Moorhouse and Bren Riley - with the addition of an unannounced, surprise comedian in the middle spot.

When Jimmy Cricket took to the stage, there were cheers and applause before he'd even got to the microphone. He went on to absolutely smash it with his mesmerising brand of clean comedy (and one of the fastest joke rates we've seen to this day at Nantwich Civic Hall!). Offstage, he was wonderfully warm and friendly, and his charitable work led to a knighthood from the Pope.

Simply one of the visionaries of British comedy. RIP Jimmy.

💥Finishing in style...

Last night saw Dave Williams compere a great evening of live comedy. Paul McCaffrey opened with his hilarious takes on getting older and cruises. Taking no prisoners whatsoever in the middle was Canadian comic Kate Barron , what a debut with us! Closing the show, and the season, in predictably brilliant fashion was club favourite Dan Nightingale.

Thanks to all the acts that played for us this past year, everyone that bought a ticket to our shows and the brilliant team at Nantwich Civic Hall 👏👏

See you in September!

😮 The Final One!
Friday 5th June sees a fantastic line-up of comedians to close off the current season of The Very Best In Stand Up.

Dave Williams is joined by Paul McCaffrey (Live at the Apollo), Kate Barron (Comedy Central Live) and the always popular Dan Nightingale (Have A Word) to close the show and this season.

🗣️ After last night's show, someone said to us 'My face aches from laughing so much'... Job Done!

Our penultimate show of the season saw the excellent Dave Twentyman returning to do a great job of overseeing our evening. He introduced Stephen Grant, whose high energy style kicked off the evening very strongly. Peter Brush was in the middle section with a wonderful deadpan style, weaving some long wonderful set-ups to some fabulously unpredictable punchlines. Closing the show, we had the return of giddy west midlands comic Lindsey Santoro, closing the show in a fast paced and hilarious 25 minutes of comedy.

We're back next month - June 5th - for the final show of the season. It's going to be a banger to finish off a great season of live comedy.

🥳 Comedy's Coming Back!
After a short break to accommodate Nantwich Jazz Festival, Live comedy is returning to Nantwich Civic in a couple of weeks time - Friday 1st May.

Slight change to original line-up in that Scott Bennett has had to cancel but we've got the always popular Dave Twentyman stepping in to introduce Stephen Grant, Lindsey Santoro and long-time coming debut from Peter Brush. It's going to be another great night of comedy and tickets are on sale now at £12 from Nantwich Civic Hall or via the website - www.civiccomedy.co.uk.
