🔐🍻 AND THAT’S A WRAP… WOODCUTTER BAR, OVER & OUT! ❤️

That’s us officially done. The pub has been stripped out, the doors closed and locked for the final time. 💔

It’s hard to put into words how strange it feels knowing that this really is the end of an era. The Woodcutter has been such a massive part of my life for so many years, and there are lots of great memories, laughs and stories that will last a lifetime. ❤️

A massive THANK YOU again to everyone who came out and supported us over our final weekend. Seeing the place full of familiar faces and getting the chance to have one last drink, laugh and goodbye with everyone meant more than you’ll ever know. 🍻

To all our regulars — thank you. You weren’t just customers, you became friends and, for many of us, more like family. ❤️ Thank you for supporting the pub through the good times and the difficult ones and for making the Woodcutter what it was.

A huge thank you to all my staff, past and present, who have been part of the journey. Every one of you has played a part and helped create so many of the memories we’ll take away with us.

And a massive thanks to everyone who helped over the last couple of days packing everything up and stripping the pub out — my dad, mum ,Kirsty, Hayley, and especially Scott McIsaac for arriving with the vans and trailers 🤣💪 Absolute lifesavers!

And finally, my right-hand woman Jean Mc — there right till the very end. 💪❤️ You’ve been through it all with me and I genuinely couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you for everything.

It’s heartbreaking to close the doors, but I’m incredibly grateful for all the memories and all the people I’ve met along the way.

One chapter closes and another begins…

❤️ THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART ❤️

I honestly don’t know where to start…

A massive thank you to everyone who came along to our leaving weekend at The Woodcutter Bar. Seeing so many familiar faces there to give the place the send-off it deserved meant more to me than I could ever put into words.

The Woodcutter has been such a huge part of my life. I started working there when I was just 18, went on to manage the pub for 3 years, and then in 2019 I took the leap and bought it myself.

There have been so many memories made within those four walls over the years — plenty of laughs, some stressful days, some absolutely mental nights 😂 and friendships that will last a lifetime.

I am genuinely heartbroken that we have had to close the doors. 💔

I need to say the biggest thank you to my amazing team — Jean, Hayley, Linda, Kirsty and my wee dad Pat. ❤️ I couldn’t have done it without you all.

A very special mention has to go to Jean, who has managed the pub and been there through it all. Thank you for all your help and support, and for keeping everything and everyone in form! 😂❤️ You’ve been a massive part of The Woodcutter and I’ll always be grateful for everything you’ve done.

I also need to say a huge thank you to my pal Carol at The Horseshoe. ❤️ Anytime I needed anything, ran out of something or was stuck, Carol was always there to help me out. That’s what good friends and good neighbours are all about, and I’ll never forget it.

And a massive thank you to JB and Janice at The White House for all the help and support over the years too. ❤️ It’s always been appreciated, especially those times when we needed a wee helping hand!

Thank you to Jammin Jimmy, our regular Friday night entertainment, for all the brilliant Friday nights over the years, and to Entertainment Express for keeping the party going on Saturdays. 🎤🎶🍻

But most importantly, thank you to our regulars.

You weren’t just customers. You became friends and, somewhere along the way, you became family. ❤️

That’s what I’ll miss the most. The faces coming through the door, the laughs, the stories, the banter and knowing that no matter what, there was always someone sitting at the bar ready for a blether.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every single person who has supported The Woodcutter over the years and everyone who came out this weekend to say goodbye.

It’s the end of an era and I’m absolutely gutted, but I’ll always be proud of what we had and the memories we made together.

The doors might be closed, but the memories and friendships made in The Woodcutter will stay with me forever. ❤️🍻

With us closing next week and the community defib on the wall outside that needs to be attached to the mains supply of electricity. We were worried that if someone had to use it and there were no charge going to it what would happen. We have spoke to Phew Respite Motherwell and are delighted for this to be moved just around the corner from to pub to this fantastic respite centre.

So the defib hasn’t disappeared just moved round the corner

The work these guys do are fantastic and the defib will be outside there wall for everyone to use.

Closing Saturday 5th September

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of The woodcutter Bar

Sometimes life doesn’t work out the way we plan and to run a small business in this day and age is difficult . The woodcutter holds many memories for many people including myself where I have spent some of the best nights of my life with people present and past and these are memories I will Cherish , to every person who has helped over the years , every punter who has came threw our doors it is not unnoticed and I will be forever greatful.

To our regular punters . We will miss yous , the laughs , good times and bad times and even the arguments about our 5p increases , but yous have been our bread and butter in the hard times , loyal and for that I will forever be greatful .

To my staff . We have had many over the years , all who played a part in us being able to be get to here , I will forever be greatful for standing by through the hard times and kept me pushing through , the ones who really made the woodcutter , and who gave it the homely atmosphere it has.

Especially my team that have been with me for years and will be with me till our last day massive thank you guys for all your hard work and loyalty!

To Jean .. the woodcutter wouldn’t have made it to today if it weren’t for you , every nail ( or staple ) into that wall , every decoration on every occasion and how that eyebrow raises before you throw someone out the door , the way you have cared for not only the pub and me but to the staff who look upto you as our “ Pub Maw “ I will be never forget everything you have done .

as an Era comes to an end , tears will be shed for all our memories , the woodcutter is not only a pub it is a Family and I will miss you all ❤️

Our last night will be Saturday 5th September , please come along to go out in true woodcutter fashion . AINT NO PARTY LIKE A WOODCUTTER PARTY!
