Our September Quiz & Wine is just around the corner, and we still have a few tables left!

Join us at The Winery Stony Stratford this Sunday 27th September from 6.30pm for an evening of great wine, good food and a little friendly competition. 🍷

Something new is coming... 🍷

The seasons are changing and we've been working hard creating something very special.

We’ve been listening.
Listening to what you love, what you’d like to see more of, and the little things you’ve told us could make your visits to The Winery even better.

🍷 A completely new wine list — with new bottles, new discoveries and plenty of familiar favourites.

🧀 Three new cheeses on our menu and more planned as specials each month, carefully chosen for the season and ready to find a place on your next board.

✨ A brand new tasting experience for those with a sweet tooth! Something a little different to explore, taste and enjoy. Watch this space!

And that’s just the beginning…
There are plenty of other new additions, seasonal favourites and a few surprises waiting for you, all designed with the autumn, winter and festive season in mind.

🧀 Why does Stilton have blue veins?

Ever wondered where those beautiful blue veins in Stilton actually come from?

It’s all down to a very clever little mould. 🦠

During cheesemaking, Penicillium roqueforti is introduced to the cheese. As the Stilton matures, the cheese is pierced with needles, allowing oxygen into the paste.
That oxygen gives the mould the perfect conditions to grow, creating those distinctive bluish, green veins, along with the rich, savoury and slightly spicy flavours we love.

So those blue veins aren't a sign that your cheese has gone bad!

They’re the whole point. 💙🧀

And when paired with the right wine? Even better.

🇵🇹 SEPTEMBER WINE TASTING EVENT - DISCOVER PORTUGAL 🇵🇹

Our September wine tasting is all about one of our favourite wine countries, Portugal.

From fresh, aromatic whites to big, characterful reds, Portugal has so much more to offer than Port. 🍷

Join us on Thursday 24th September at 6.30pm for a relaxed, two-hour tasting hosted by Callum Johnson from Liberty Wines, as we explore some of the incredible wines and grape varieties Portugal has to offer.

Food isn't included in the ticket, but our usual food menu will be available to order throughout the evening.

This Thursday, we’re taking you on a journey around the world with our Hidden Gems Wine Tasting at The Winery, Stony Stratford. 🌍

Join us for a relaxed, guided evening discovering lesser-known grape varieties from around the world — wines you might not have come across before, but could very quickly become new favourites.

Hosted by Callum Johnson from Liberty Wines, the evening includes:

🍾 Ever wondered how they actually make Champagne?

It’s not simply a matter of adding bubbles to wine.

Champagne begins life as a still, relatively tart base wine. Then comes the magic: a second fermentation inside the bottle itself, trapping the carbon dioxide and creating those beautiful bubbles. 🥂

But it doesn’t stop there.

The wine can spend months,sometimes years, resting on its lees, developing those delicious biscuit, brioche and toasted flavours that make traditional-method sparkling wines so distinctive.

Then there’s riddling, disgorgement, dosage, a whole lot of time, patience and craftsmanship goes into that bottle before you ever pop the cork.

At The Winery there’s always a story behind the glass.
