At the heart of every great kitchen is a brilliant Kitchen Porter team. We value the essential work our Porters do every single day to keep our service running smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

What You’ll Be Doing
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and washing up
Managing stock, supplies, pans, and crockery inventory
Assisting the chef team with basic dessert preparation
Learning new kitchen skills in a fast-paced, varied environment

Working Hours (Shifts of around 4 hours)
Our kitchen operates during the following hours:
Wednesday – Saturday: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Sunday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Who We’re Looking For
Must be 16 years or older
No experience needed—full training is provided!
Reliable, flexible, and positive attitude
Smartly presented with a strong work ethic

Join us on the last Saturday in September for "A Taste of Africa", an exclusive culinary showcase featuring a specially curated menu, celebrating the rich, diverse food heritage of the African continent. From aromatic spices and slow-cooked delicacies to beautifully paired refreshing drinks, our kitchen is preparing a feast you won't want to miss. (You need to see the puddings! Cor!)

This is a two or three-course dinner, with a selection of curated wines for you to buy and try, should be a fun night, and a real insight into the tastes and flavours of Africa. (Booking essential..) 🙂

Food Review incoming: In preparation for Burger Wednesdays, I asked Chef to whip up the all-inclusive, mother-of-all-burgers Billet Burger! Woof! Now that is a chunk of food! You can tell a lightly seasoned butcher's burger from a fake, fresh lettuce, caramelised onions, pickles, a soft fried egg, melted cheese, a good dollop of burger sauce, and a toasted brioche bun- just all of my favourite things. It was a real feat of contortion to pick it up and nibble it politely, which I didn't do! I sloped off to a quiet corner and went at it like a pig at a tater! Yum! I'm off home to change my shirt now, but all I would say before I go is come hungry, any Wednesday, and enjoy proper, local, fresh, unprocessed food. It just tastes So Good! 😊 Paul.

Another busy month coming up at the pub.. Our Wednesday night is now the perfect night to come out and pick one of our five burgers, and get 20% off two burgers; come on Thursday and get 20% off 2 steaks; and book now for the last Saturday of the month and Eat African! A delicious month coming up, and right off the back of an amazing summer. It was a joy to spend so much time with you in our garden; we had all sorts of events and parties, and so much quiet time for family and friends. Hawkstone Lager is selling incredibly well, and the main event this month is The Village Show from 12:30 on Saturday 5th, followed by our after-show party. We have food trucks, live music and a bottle bar to keep you entertained! Ha ha, gotta love September.. Enjoy your September wherever you are, and we're already looking forward to welcoming you in, and welcoming you back.😀
