The sussex food and drink guide has reviewd the Half Moon!
Let's see what they said ...

The Half Moon is a cosy country pub offering a menu that features all the classics – sausages and mash, scampi, battered fish and roast meat on Sundays are all present and correct.

I was reliably informed by the friendly waitress that the homemade pie of the day is an endlessly popular choice, although she warned that it is not for those with small appetites. Wishing to see for myself why they are so popular, I sampled the day’s offering of steak and ale. It took up half the plate and was packed with juicy meat. The portions do indeed tend towards the generous, but for those looking for something lighter the menu also features sandwiches, jacket potatoes and a ‘Smaller Appetites’ selection that offers petite versions of some of their most popular dishes.

The pub is separated into two distinct areas – one is a cosy bar, while the other is a spacious area specifically for dining. There is also a large, well-kept garden to sit in on sunny days. The decor, like the food, is very much that of a traditional pub, with heavy wooden tables and chairs. There are exposed beams, low ceilings and shelves of books and plates on display, all of which create a warm, cosy ambience.

Situated on the outskirts of Midhurst, The Half Moon is very well located for visiting local attractions such as the Cowdray Estate and the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum. Additionally, beautiful countryside and the National Trust-owned Woolbeding Gardens are just a short stroll away. Being both child and dog friendly, the pub is very popular with families, particularly at the weekend, with the Sunday roasts providing a great opportunity to take all the family out without breaking the bank.

Speaking with one of the owners, Harry Woods, who took on the pub in 2011, it was clear that he is enthusiastic about making it the best it can be. The team are passionate about The Half Moon being a place for family and friends to meet, enjoy good food and certainly never leave hungry.

Good review eh guys?
