Cast your minds back five years. The world was gradually emerging from global hibernation. We’d missed each other. We wanted to celebrate.
We noted that several staple institutions had not made it through the winter, amongst them Indie Tracks, that most perfect and beautiful place, where you could be yourself, catch up with friends, discover something new and plan your musical year ahead.
Back then, almost no decent festivals were happening, or even gigs. What to do?
In Middlewich’s King’s Lock, we had a perfect venue for a mini-indiepop festival: a pub with lovely real ale, a marquee for bands, a garden for tents and stalls, and a canal (yes, boats instead of trains!) with a supportive management who would let us do what we wanted.
So, we went for it. And you all responded with love and jubilation. We succeeded because we were the only option out there.
Five years on, the festival scene seems more crowded than ever before. If you find a summer weekend free for a festival, then well done you!
When we started, we were determined to fill a void. We never wanted or expected to compete with other festivals, or feel under pressure to up the budget just to stand still.
So, we feel the time has come to finish what we started, keeping it lo-fi and friendly and perfect.
So, one last time - join us in 2026 and help us finish on a high!
We love that you loved us; we love you too, and like you, we’ll treasure memories that will stay with us forever x
