MERTHYR & DISTRICT DARTS LEAGUE
Aberfan – 60 Years
Today, 21st October 2026, marks 60 years since the Aberfan disaster.
At 9.15am on 21st October 1966, a colliery spoil tip slid down onto the village, engulfing Pantglas Junior School and the houses nearby. 144 people lost their lives, 116 of them children.
Father and son Charlie Davies & Lloyd Davies are laying a wreath today on behalf of the league:
"With deepest respect and remembrance of all lives lost"
Our thoughts are with the families, the survivors and the whole community of Aberfan today, and every day.
🕯️ Gone but never forgotten 🕯️
