As helpful as ever these almost permanently placed road closed signs at either end of Starkholmes road are incorrect. The road isn't closed and you can get through to here from both Matlock Green and Willersley lane.

The road closure just up from the pub is for once a proper closure with no way through at any time of day or night. It says for four weeks but hopefully it will be less.

We can only be reached by car via WIllersley Lane. As unfortunate as this is, we do wish our neighbours good luck with this large and necessary building project.

November is usually a quiet month and so we will be closed from 8.00pm Sunday 9th November until 5pm Wednesday the 19th November.

Please identify these people if anyone knows them. I have now obtained the car registration of the golf belonging to the lady who hit the entrance post which will now need rebuilding. Can’t understand why they thought it fair to leave without giving names, contact details or any insurance details. Suffice to say I have the car registration now, and so do the police and our insurers.

The lady having her car recovered hit the main entrance gate post this morning and said she was leaving her details before she left but never did. Seemed to know us by first names but we didn’t recognize her. We need a name and the registration if anybody has heard anything.

As usual we have signs on Matlock Green saying road closed. It is not! The pub is accessible from both ends: (Cromford and Matlock Green )when the pub is open. The work is taking place between 9 and 3 for school hours.

Very unhelpfully they leave the road closed signs up even after 3 when the road is open and we expect the daytime weekday work to be ongoing!
