YES, YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT.
We are genuinely so excited to have Athletic Brewing Company pouring on draught at the Captain Nelson.
We met Adam from Athletic and came away blown away by his knowledge of the low and no alcohol market. We learnt things we simply didn’t know or realise about no and low. We tasted their b**r alongside other leading brands and, for us, the taste and flavour were far superior.
The more we learnt about the company behind the b**r, the more we knew we’d made the right choice.
Athletic didn’t simply brew a normal b**r and take the alcohol out. Their founders spent years completely rethinking the process to create proper, naturally fermented craft b**r at less than 0.5% ABV, using their own proprietary, patent pending brewing processes.
The b**r we’ve chosen for our bar is Noble Pils. A non alcoholic Pilsner blending subtly sweet Pilsner malt with floral and herbal noble hops including Saaz and Hallertau, giving it a beautifully crisp, refreshing finish.
We have discovered just how much their values resonate with ours. Athletic has already been right here in Cumbria and the Lake District, supporting outdoor events at Ullswater and Kendal, while their incredible Two For The Trails programme gives up to around £1.5 million every year towards protecting and restoring trails, waterways, parks and outdoor spaces, with more than £6 million invested to date.
A company that believes in doing things differently, supporting communities, protecting the places around us and creating a genuinely great product? That’s exactly the type of company we want to work with.
We know you love coming out, having a pint and enjoying the music and the atmosphere of the Captain Nelson, but sometimes you simply don’t want the alcohol. Why should that mean settling for something average?
Now you can come to the bar, watch your pint being pulled from the tap and still have that proper draught b**r experience (without the hangover).
The Captain Nelson has never been afraid to be that little bit different. We’ll keep looking, tasting and learning to bring you products we genuinely believe in, because whether there’s alcohol in your pint or not, we don’t think you should ever have to compromise on quality.
