10am - 3pm serving up their gorgeous açai bowls, fabulous coffees, delicious cakes and beautiful flowers. Honestly, what’s not to love?

We’re keeping the Halloween celebrations going tonight, and we’ve got another cracking evening lined up for you 🎤🕺🏻💃🏻.

The pocket rocket that is Miss Dee is kicking things off at 5:30pm

The fabulous Devonne Ashton Music will be taking over the dance floor at 8pm

Because you know we love to spoil you, we’ll be serving up complimentary homemade chilli, nachos and all the sides from 5pm 🌶️.

As always you are guaranteed fantastic live music, delicious homemade food, outstanding drinks and the best company here. Come and join us for a devilishly good time at your favourite harbourside pub 😈🍻🥂🎶.

We’re kicking off our Scaryport weekend at the Captain Nelson tonight with the devilishly good Lee Adams LIVE from 8pm!!

If you’ve seen Lee before, you’ll know to expect the unexpected. Brilliant music, plenty of banter and absolutely no guarantee what he’ll sing next 🤷‍♀️🎤🎸.

To keep those dancing feet fuelled, we’ll be serving up some of our fantastic complimentary homemade Irish style chicken curry and chips from 6pm👌. We know, we know how to spoil you 😏.

It’s a weekend not to be missed. The draught, cask, w**es, spirits and mixers as always are spookily outstanding, the atmosphere is electric and the vibes are good. It’s a Captain Nelson thing 😏.

We know how much you all love the beautiful knitted creations in the Captain Nelson, lovingly made by our wonderful friend Margaret. ❤️

Margaret is in her 80’s and has spent so much of her life putting her incredible talent to good use, raising tens of thousands of pounds for local charities through her knitting. What an amazing achievement from a truly lovely lady, and someone we feel very lucky to call our friend.

With Remembrance Day approaching, Margaret has been busy knitting 30 of these beautiful poppies, and we would absolutely love to see every single one find a home.

We’re asking for a minimum donation of just £5 per poppy, with 100% going directly to the Royal British Legion.

If you would like one, please pop into the pub with your cash donation.

The fire is roaring, you can now see out of the windows (thanks Phil 🤣), as always the drink is outstanding and we are open as normal today from 12pm. The weather has certainly calmed a bit and we would love to see you all here at the Captain Nelson for a cosy afternoon in 🍻🥂🔥👌.

We are incredibly proud to play a small part by hosting these wonderful events, bringing people together to remember someone special whilst raising much needed funds for a cause that makes such a difference in our local community.

Another phenomenal amount raised by some truly wonderful people, all in memory of the much loved Frank Bucknall.

A huge well done to everyone involved. Your generosity, kindness and hard work really does make a difference ❤️.

A huge thank you to Captain Nelson Tavern in Maryport and Chelsea Reynolds for hosting a charity evening on 11th September in memory of Chelsea’s beloved Grandad, Frank Bucknall, following the care and support her family received from Hospice at Home West Cumbria when Frank was diagnosed with a palliative condition.

The evening was a wonderful way to remember Frank, with Chelsea providing the entertainment, alongside a tombola and an auction. Together, an incredible £1,828.65 was raised to support the vital services the charity delivers to patients and their families across West Cumbria.

Thank you to Chelsea, The Captain Nelson and everyone who attended, donated prizes and supported the evening. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference to local families when they need it most.
