Back at the bar and look what I’ve got for you. 😃🥂

Our 20.10 Extra Dry from Le Manzane has just got a crown. 👑

It’s been awarded a Corona by Vinibuoni d’Italia and named among its Top 300 wines in Italy for 2027.

Not Top 300 Proseccos.
Top 300 Italian wines.

A nice little reminder that when Prosecco is done properly, it deserves its place alongside Italy’s great wines.

We’ve been pouring 20.10 for quite some time, so we already knew it was rather good. 😉

Things we will not be doing on National Prosecco Day:

❌ £6 supermarket Prosecco
❌ warm Prosecco
❌ calling every sparkling Italian wine “Prosecco”
❌ pretending Extra Dry means very dry

Things we WILL be doing:

🥂 Drinking Prosecco Superiore from the hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene
⛰️ Appreciating grapes grown on ridiculously steep slopes
✋ Raising a glass to the fact that much of the harvest has to be done by hand
🍇 Talking about Rive, Cartizze, Brut, Extra Dry and everything in between
🥂 Opening some seriously good bottles

Because not all Prosecco is the same.

Some comes from the flatlands.
Some comes from ridiculously steep hills.

Some costs £6 in a supermarket.
Some is harvested by hand.

And yes…
you can taste the difference.

What running independent wine bars actually looks like…

Today: Costco in 36°C, baby in the carrier, trolley full of toilet paper, kitchen rolls and sink unblocker.

Owning a wine bar isn’t just pouring beautiful glasses of Prosecco and chatting about Italy (although thankfully there is some of that too). It’s stock runs, cleaning supplies, fixing things, paperwork, endless lifting… and somehow fitting it all around family life.

So next time you’re deciding where to buy your bottle, have your aperitivo or meet friends after work, and an independent business is an option, choose local.

You’re not supporting a corporation. You’re supporting your neighbours, local jobs, families and people who genuinely care about every customer who walks through the door.

We notice. And we’re incredibly grateful. 🥂
